Where is the future for Dune games?

Will it be with another Dune game made by a big company or will it be with the Fan-made ones like Arrakis

There will of course eventully be a new Dune game, it is after all, Science Fictions greatest accomplishment. Unfortunaly, after the recent failure the horrible truth is that we won't see the Dune title on a game for awhile. Or at least thats what I think.

Well with new games and new modding tools the possibilities are endless. Who knows maybe we could become official games modders?

i don't think a game by cryo or ea will happen. i think that if another game is made, it will be a small company.

Maybe if we all worken together we could make our own game

Dune will go into an 'underground' phase for a decade or two before being revived by someone who makes it a hit the world over, selling thousands of copies and spawning a gargantuan franchise.

Or we could do it first...

That being my plan

The first step - making TCs (total conversions) to make every game a dune game then with the knowledge we have gained we make our own game

I don't think that making are own game from scratch is a very good idea. Unless we got some professionals in who had done it before. But TCs are an excellent idea.

FYI: I am currently working on a TC. I am using the Battlezone2 game engine and have all the tools and help I need to make it work.

alpha is scheduled for September 2003.

It is an open type mod, where everybody is welcome to contribute. but you only get to access the actual files when you have contributed your bit.

I wasnt planing on informing this board too much, just visiting here once a month. But when I get closer to the actual alpha phase, I will post a few images here.

Me and Anders are about to start a new project :) An independent dune game, 1st person, and hopefully 3d. We still need a 3d programmer, so feel free to apply :)

At the moment we have:

Me---------3dModeler.

Inoculator-Story, plot and planning. Also project leader.

We need more modelers/3dprogrammers and people helping in any kind of way.
