But what makes it have that shape you know the ark why wouldnt the whole sky where it was raining/misting become a large colormap, instead of the simple ark?

Put simply, light travels more slowly in water than it does in air. Because blue light has a lower wavelength than red light, it bends (refracts) more on entering water droplets. Therefore, it is displaced slightly compared to the red light. This distortion in light direction is noticeable by the rainbow.

The last picture explains perfectly why it manifests itself in this way.

you know... geesh, I have to give you credit for being very intelligent.lol I cant say any different. I respect you for that, even though I envy it sometimes. hehe :)

I have an unnervingly good memory at times. I can't do those 'teach yourself to have a brilliant memory' things, though.

Anyway, to answer the first question, yes, things often click about all sorts of things. I remember thoughts, rather than data.

How does d

well, the white light hits the water droplets and the water acts as a prism, seperating the light into the visible spectrum-the rainbow.

nope not that, the page where the guy is talking all mathmatical as to why the ark shape in the sky... i know about the water prism thingy ;) but why is it an ark rather than a big colorfull area where the mist rain is.... I need a mathmatical translation I guess...

EDIT- oops sorry Nema didnt see your pos there... I think i get it now... ;D

I also think in 'thoughts' instead of words. Those thoughts are, of course, translated into English words and phrases, but they don't start off English. In the same way, I remember rooms, locations, almost perfectly, but almost *never* the dates or times.

Another thing, you mentioned deja vu. I expirience deja vu at *least* once a month, and usually more often than that.

For example, the other day in class, I was looking around, and I looked down and *bang* there was the feeling of memory, I looked to my left, and, sure enough, there was a very pretty, snazzily-dressed young lady sitting in a desk, I look up and everything about the room seems familier.

I felt the same way the first time I used a program called "CheetaChat" for chatting on Yahoo.com. I remembered thinking of it as a "window", before I even knew what "MS Windows" even was.

I have a goodly number of epiphanies, especially about the human mind and religion.

Deja vu is more of you in a place, and you instantly forget it, and have this weird remembrance. Pretty weird event, but it isn't really a past memory.

how about dreams?

I just had one a bit ago, I was in the forest with my family riding on this weird rollercoaster made by Playskool, thats right, the kid toy makers. There were no seats or anything. It was just a big plastic rectangle. It went up and down till finally when it went up, I flew thousands of feet in the air till I landed on the ground.lol weird aint it?

Dreams are often weird. However I've had several re-occuring ones. The most re-occuring dream to me was when I get the impression that I'm falling really quickly, with my back to the ground, and I can't straighten myself out or turn to get out of my position. When I finally hit the ground, I wake up with a start in bed. ::)

There's also another one (although this one wasn't really re-occuring, I just happen to remember it at this moment). It was kinda creepy. Anyway, here goes:

I was on the Golden Gate bridge (which was wrecked, and rusted, and the section that I was on was only barely standing. The bridge was swaying, and creaking, and I was helping these people I had never seen before try to get off the bridge onto the section of land that connects to it (which was some big cliff of some sort). When we finally managed to make it so safety, we climbed onto the backs of these giant eagles, and flew away into space... :P Really, weird...

You will be amazed at your ability to controll your dreams wile asleep. If you've never done it before it may take some training. My psycolgy teacher taled about it during our study of Dreams and Sleep Patterns. I kinda cought on quickly casue I remember doing it as a kid, I would always try and fly. The secret is really just realizing your in a dream. Try this, while laying in bed think to yourself 'When I see my hands I'll know I'm dreaming' You know how you sometimes part of you dream is like an FPS and you dont se much perphial vision wise and all of a sudden ther eare you sand up on the screen ;D now if you've trained your brain to know that when you see your hands you know your dreaming then its like you realize it and can start controlling your dreams. Dont think you can train your brain try this. Whats your average bed time 10:00 pm? While laying down to go to sleep think to yourself I will wake up at (pick a really weird hour) like say 4:20 in the morn (or what ever would be relavent to the time you went to bed. It may take a couple of days maybe a week but once you wake up at that time with out the arlarm and realize it worked your gonna be mad caouse now you have to fall back asleep. The proff called that an example of our internal clock. How did the brain know to wake you up at that time?

I think it's called something like "Lucid dreaming", where you can control what you can do in your dream. Sometimes I think I can do it, and sometimes I just can't. ??? It's like watching a slideshow where you do SOME of the parts, but the rest is just all a show where you watch, and you do things you have no control over. Flying, yeah, I've always wanted to fly in my dreams. I've done it quite a few times actually, I just haven't yet mastered the art of flying the way I'd exactly like to fly.

These dreams are all coming back to me now.

Once, I was running away from my uncle :O who was in some fit of rage for some reason. I ran down the street really fast, the wind was whipping past my face. I took a running leap and up I went... :O :D ;D

This might all sound very stupid, but it's just dreaming. :P

I remember a few years ago whenever I would have nightmares I would realize that it is a nightmare and wake myself up. It was awesome, and I haven't had a nightmare since.

Yeah, that is wierd, your mind is a powerful, powerful thing.

Also, how many people here, (who usually remember your dreams), dream in color or mostly black & white.

Most of my dreams are in color, but when I'm having the falling dream (Yes, I have that one too, and usually at the oddest times,), it's usually in black & white.

Also, the internal alarm clock works well, I've used it several times, and I usually wake up a few seconds before my (real) alarm clock goes off.

I've never dreamed or remembered anything in monochrome only.

I can't fly in dremas, but, provided I can get some leverage, I tend to be able to hover.

When I was a small child, I had a dream about being trapped in a mushroom by a man sitting on the side of the road smoking a pipe. He was supposed to have done it two years before, but never explained why he hadn't.

Want to see how powerfull and wrong our brain can be at making/storing our memories? Watch the movie Memento.

...Ok, now what was I doing....

Well as far as I know, throughout my "dreaming history" (I'll refer to it as that :P) I've always dreamnt in colour. I thought everyone dreamnt in colour, until I watched a documentary some time ago that stated that most people dreamnt in black and white. Some dreams, I remember quite well. Other dreams, I forget as soon as I wake up. Sometimes, I remember dreams that occured years ago, and it's just spontaneous. ??? I remember once that I got quite annoyed how I just forget what my dreams were all about as soon as I woke up from them. I'd make an effort to remember what my dreams were about when I woke up so I could write on a piece of paper what they were about before I forgot about them. I find I don't dream as often as I used to now.

Yeah, I normally don't remember what I dream about. A few questions about you other guys' dreams: When you go to sleep while you're reading a book, or after you've finished it, do you ever dream you're still reading the book, and the storyline isn't making sense? Or, better yet, the storyline is actually better than the author's?

Another: I have dreamt in FPS, though I usually dream in third person, or at least I *think* I do ;) When I dreamt in FPS, though, it was usually because I had been playing a FPS game called ST: Voyager, Elite Force. I have also dreamt about playing Alpha Centauri. Have you guys ever dreamt about playing or being in a game universe?
