This guitar is fake....

technology is amazing.

listen to this guitar solo i generated out of my synthesizer.

it actually sounds like a real guitar. It has bends, frills, twirls...well i suppose someone with a good ear could tell its fake, but if I didn't tell you and you heard this somewhere on the radio or soemthing, you probably would think its real....? or no?

It's probably my experience, but I could tell it was synthesized for a couple of reasons. The rapid succession of notes at around 18 seconds was perfectly timed, more so than a human could play. And the slide at the beginning was constant, no "frett effect" But the bend effect at the beginning could would have fooled me. And the sharpness effects at the beginning of some of the notes were very convinvcing.

ahh yes, a trained ear. good idea about the "precision" of the timing. i can offset the notes by random amount of milliseconds to better simulate human play.

that's pretty damn good. to be honest i was able to tell it was a synthesizer but it was still really good. 8)

Hmm, it probably sounds like an electric guitar. They are almost fake too.

The accoustic guitar. That will be hard to fake...

As Timen says, Electric guitar isn't the same as an accoustic guitar.

Guitar is one of the hardest nuts for synthesizer-makers ;D

ahhh yes, the acoustic guitar.

i have some interesting techniques to use for that, but the result is always the same: you can easily tell it is fake. you just cannot mimic the acoustic very convincingly- it is much too dynamic of an instrument.
