World should be balanced. There are only two ways: worldwide imperium, or more states with same size and power. That ensures order. Imperial way is far best, but I don't think it will be soon. United Europe must be a new equivalent to USA, Russia and China. Or it will be still just a doll in their hands.

Yeah, it's a conspiracy. ::)

Better the germans than the americans.

Better the Germans than the Americans!!!

I think not - oh I forgot whose side the Romanians were fighting for in WW2

What you people are forgetting is UK and France were both superpowers before the joined the EU.

Posted

They believed that it would benefit them.

The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany have the most power in the EU - even though they are not the most powerful countries.

Besides is that the only thing you disagree with?

Posted

no, I believe that France have also gained alot of being member of the EU and they still do and they have a little something to say too, what people need to focuse on is that the fact is that Europe haven't seen a major war in over half a century, and EU have been a main factor in this. I know it's a hell of a beurocracy but I prefer it over war.

Posted

All countries have to be at an EU average - this is good for some countries (Romania) but not for countries like the UK, we are (or were) above it but it pulls us down

Posted

Soon, we won't have to divide it as you do. Now see there are only 5 million Slovaks and 80 million Germans, so it isn't big loss for them ;)

*** Breaking News ***

World War 2 is over!! :O :O :O

And look around you for a minute: Out of all the leaders of the West, who is restricting the freedom of his people in the name of a war against an invisible boogieman, while at the same time accumulating more and more power to himself? Bush. That man is a nazi if I ever saw one. Take the "no children left behind" act. Can you say "Hitlerjungend"? ::)

As for which side Romania was on - actually, we were spineless cowards and sided with whoever was winning the war at the time. ;D

So it's good for the poor and bad for the rich - sounds like justice to me!

The more socialism, the better. And don't think I'm just saying this because I'm on the receiving side - I would fully support a Global Union that took away money from us to feed the poor in Africa.

I guess you're just being selfish and greedy after all...

The attitude of western European nations was less then examplary too (cough cough). England and France didn't do anything when Hitler took Poland or when he attacked CzechSlovak (wich was a single country at the time, unfortunately I have no idea as of how to spell it in English :P)

And it didn't get better for them after the war either. They deserve our aid.

awww...did big bad Bush restrict the "freedoms" of the poor little Taliban? Awwwww... poor taliban. That awful bush killing those poor noble Taliban. That horrible devil Nazi removing those Great, Mighty, Wonderful, Noble, God-Like Taliban. That evil vile Bush!!! Bring back the Taliban! Enslave the Afghanistans!! Lets UNDO the evil Bush has done!

*good grief*

Quit that shit with the pictures! The Taliban is bad, but that doesn't make Bush good.

Btw, the guy who took the picture must either have been part of the Taliban himself or a coward.

Their passivity in Munchen Conferention, where Chamberlain doomed Czechoslovakia to german hands was just because they remembered what was in 1914-1918. When Hitler used against Poland weapons, they voted for Churchill, which was strictly for war. What they had failed mostly was fact, that we were "liberated", or better claimed by Soviets.

Emprworm, I wasn't talking about Bush's tantrums... err, I mean foreign politics.

I was talking about his internal politics. He is taking away YOUR freedom. Homeland defense, the Parrot... err, Patriot Act, etc.

Chamberlain should have realised that war was inevitable. Hitler did, and he prepared himself. England didn't, and France invested billions in a huge defensive line called the Maginot line. The Germans flew planes over it and dropped paratroopers behind all those cannons ::)

Posted

Maginot line was useless, because Germans passed AGAIN trough Belgium to France. It is said even moron won't fall into same dirt twice. French do so ;D

War was inevitable, that's fact. But imagine Czechoslovakia mobilised in 1938 nearly one and quarter million army! If our heads won't be scared by Munchen Treaty, we could resist. At least some months :-

Why does the world hate Bush? He has only been president for 2 years. There is one thing...and one thing only that he did that caused people all over the world to hate him: neutralize the vile taliban. And every time someone in this room posts a pro-taliban remark, I'm going to display a picture to bring it all back home.

He's done a hell of a lot more things than that, Emprworm. He's using the threat of terrorism to scare everyone into blindly following him.

The war on terror is so familiar... where have I seen this before? Ah, yes:

"Oceania's war with Eastasia is going well"

("1984" reference)

Bush is ally of Slovakia. We don't hate him. If some people do so, it's their business. Altough we may be angered by some of his aggressive declarations, I know he is just a president, trying to write history with great words.

Posted

The Germans avoided the Maginot line by going through Belgium and by dropping soldiers behind the line. Guess they never heard of Belgium or of planes. ;D

What I hate about Bush:

- He only got so many votes because his daddy was so popular, otherwise he'd never have won

- Gore got more votes then him, yet Bush won

- He's an idiot

- His speeches are corny

- He tells the rest of the world what to do, like he owns all

Furthermore, if you don't like Bush it doesn't mean you like the Taliban. We don't live in a world of black and white.

Posted

- He's doing everything possible to oppress his own citizens

- And to turn the rest of the world into provinces of an American Empire

Caid Ivik, Bush is an "ally" (read: overlord) of Romania as well. That doesn't mean I'm not allowed to hate his guts. You know what I was thinking when he came to Bucharest?

Where's a Lee Harvey Oswald when you need one? ;D

the war on terror is a UN backed initiative that has the support of General Kofi Annan. If this angers you....the UN declaring war against terror...if this makes you angry inside, then your problem is much greater than GW Bush.
