well that settles it, I think. Tempest shall be the side used along with the Haerchalos and the Swixarans. I think ill have more fun makign the tempest anyway, but it means lots of XBF work :O

Damn it Apollyon, what is it going to be? Aspedos or Tempest? It looks like you wanted Tempest all along. Why don't you just go with your own decision next time? ::)

Tempest will be almost entirely re-done.

Only a few units will remain the same as in the original ITDG. Also, for instance, each race can build specialised harvesters however one race does not receive carryalls.

earlier today, due to being in a different mind-set I had a huge torrent of ideas ;D .so many! :D

some of them just shouldnt work and yet they do! I call it divine intervention ;).

Did the ideas still work when the mind effect wore off? :P

Is it possible that all 3 races have flying attacking units like the gunships or is it limited to only 2 main houses? Is it possible to create a medical scout ( combined scout and engineer )?

you can add all that you want, you could make 3 for each side if you want. The medical scout is also a possibility. It would be made by taking an engineer, then give it scout sight, and scout stealth(there are 2 kinds of stealth, fremen, and scout).

im a genius when im drunk... or maybe I just think im a genius when im drunk ???.

anyway heres a sneak peak of a few units:

Scythe laser tank = a fast moving hover vehicle complete with a spot light mounted on the front. Due to its light weight it hovers a considerably larger distance form the ground than most hover vehicles.

Smart bomb = a large ball, packed full of explosives. Very slow moving but fairly heavily armoured, combine this with a transport craft and the enemy will be spitting curses for hours...

Regeneration turret - heals all units.

Drop squad beacon - a vehicle that deploys into a tower that calls reinforcements from nearby sources which are dropped in by carryall (cool huh? ;D).

What do you think about a harvester that when deployed can heal itself or becomes a stealth unit for some limited time? I do not know if it is possible to make this work.

Not that i want to push you but when do you think that itdg2 will be finished? For the moment i am playing with the idtg1 mod. :D

When you release idtg2, will it not prevent people to download the first version?

how many units do you think each side should have?

currently its like this:

Infantry

Swixarans - 7

Haerchalos - 6

The Tempest - 5

Vehicles, includes APCs etc, basically anything built from factory

Swixarans - 5

Haerchalos - 5

The Tempest - 4

note that Tempest is still in progress.
