Yeah. I think the story for Deus Ex is so big, that you can't possible "explain" the whole move in even 4 hours. There is just too much in the game, that it won't be enough with just 4 hours.

yes and comes from the phrase

"deus ex machina"

translates in modern English to "machinations of God".

It was used as excuses for inexplicable actions in ancient plays.

Actually I knew Deus was God in latin, but I didn't figure out the "Ex", so to say. I think the title has actually something to do with the game. There is some spoilers, so watch out. The main character is known as JC Denton, and in the ending levels, we find out that he was actually a clone. He was made by the Majestic 12 for some purposes, you'll have to find them out yourself, because I would have to write a book of it. Anyways, JC works at UNATCO (United Nations Anti-Terrorist Coalition), and then finds out that they are the "bad guys", so he joins the rebel groups (much like the Matrix, etc the World vs Freedom fighters). He, in the end, "saves" the world, depending on your point of view (there is 3 endings). So yes, basically, you could say that JC was sent "from God" to fight evil (MJ12). More spoilers: JC is a clone of his older brother, Paul Denton.
