actually Paul Verhoven did Starship troopers. he also did Total Recall. pretty darn good movie too. I wouldnt trust him though, he is too eccentric with his action and drama sequences for my taste.

Don't forget Robocop ;)

He put a lot of good jokes in that movie. The next movies were directed by other guys and they weren't as good as the original IMO.

But I don't think he's the guy for Dune either.
