If you practice a lot of sport, or just one sport a lot, then this might be of your interest.

This is a puzzle I tried to figure out a few times just guessing, however an australian math guy did it , a pro way, with math equations and stuff.

I won't translate the whole article, since it's in spanish.

I bet most of you (I include myself) used to lace your shoes as stated in number 1 or number 2. I've never seen such a way like number 3.

Number 3 is the most efficient way to lace the shoes, several variable were included, among the most relevant I think are the strenght it provides and the necessary effort to acomplish it.

However there is one expection, for cross country runners, the most convenient lace is number 1. For other sports, number 3 should be better, it even needs a shorter cord.

But all crosses would surely just be number 2, like I use.

Just from looking at it number 3 does look like a very efficient eay to do it though

In all three diagrams, the laces are shown as circles, with no knot and no ends to tie the knot.

And fencing shoes are messed up - 2 works, but I don't think 3 will.

What about getting a really snug fit? I find that if I can get my bball grips done up really tight, it makes it more of a unit with my foot, increasing speed and quickness, and decreasing rubbing.
