who is the resident soul in evangelion unit 00?

i've heard it was lilith from a website. and that makes the most sense to me. b/c in the movie rei sort of...well...fuses with lilith i guess you might say. and the dominant soul for unit 1 is yui ikari and the dominant soul for unit 2 is asuka's mother. i don't remember her name. that's gotta be utterly disturbing tho. asuka's past i mean. think about it, you get chosen to pilot an evangelion and you're running home to tell your mother. you swing the door open and see your mother hanging there. that would cause the drama she went through.

on another note, i am probably going to have to take that little poem off my sig. i love it but the problem is that poeple who don't watch eva get freaked out by it. i was in a game today where someone said "evaunit1 is a freak. he has this weird thing in his signature on the forums." i think i'll stick another quote in there. you got a good one? i don't feel like sticking one of those run of the mill ones like The Fate of Destruction is Also the Joy of Rebirth. etc.

I am not really a manga japanese fan. However I was asking my friend (who is a total fan of jap cartoons) about it, he laughed at me, because I was thinking Evangelion it's only ONE video, to my sourprise it's a whole serie.

Ok. Summer vacations are just about to begin, I might watch it. How long is that serie ? (hours)

So, about souls...It's very complicated. Rei is a specifical clone, it has designed not only body, but also her soul. It carries parts of many people. Including angel Lilith and Shinji's mother, Yui. There is little confuse, because main part of Yui's soul remained in Eva-01. Heads of NERV knew her role in Third Impact, so everyone wanted to participate, to save its life or to became some kind of God. What was then hierarchy after the Black Moon arises, I don't know.

But not all Evas have souls. Actually, only first two, 00 and 01 units. Eva-02 was very easy to control (just psychical problems prevented Asuka from more action; also lack of soul was why it was destroyed by SEELE's Eva Series).

on yet another note, have you found a picture of unit 0 in the orange when there is a catwalk in front of it? it's just unit 0 staring straight and there is a catwalk there. i have a very small version but i want the big version more.

well then how do you explain the movie? asuka was in her eva under water and then she started hearing her mother saying, "I won't let you die. I'll protect you. etc." and then asuka goes into the triumphant attack saying "You've always been by my side!" i think that 2's soul was asuka's mother. however, i don't believe 3 had one (unless it was toji's sister or something) and as far as i know 4 didn't either.

I saw a divx in Japanese with english subtitles. There just Asuka scream "I don't want to die!" and then she saw her and yell "Mama! You're here!". I think it was just in her mind. If something has a soul, it must show some kind of iniciative. Unit 02 didn't. Units 02 and 03 were fully dependent on their pilots. 04 and the Series were SEELE's, so much about them wasn't revealed. But I think they carry dummy plug, copied Rei controller.

you should really see the series. it is very good. there is one episode that i like in particular b/c it shows the greatness of unit 1. first off, it's absorbed by one of the angels. but to be honest i don't remember which one. anyway since the eva only has a limited supply based on the plotline ;) shinji only has like 12 hours or something on the minimal life support mode. he has a 'conversation' with an angel who i am guessing is ayanami. then when the suit dies out he says, "I'm so...tired of...everything." then you see his eyelids go limp like he died or something. then they show something with regard to yui waking him up. then comes the action. w00t for the action. The backup plan after unit 1 was absorbed was to drop all the existing N2 mines into the target and expand both remaining AT fields to destroy the angel and retreive eva 1, even if it meant destroying it. then b4 they commence the whole thing starts shaking and unit 1 shoves its hand through the angel and tears it apart from the inside. it falls to the ground drenched with the angel's blood. that's another one of my favorite pics.

and i know that eva 0 was orange b4 it turned blue. orange was the color for the prototype specific. after it was destroyed they stuck better armor on it and called it the Unit 0 Kai (means custom in japanese) what i wanted was the picture of unit 0.

well...lets see. 26 episodes, 3 movies. each episode at half an hour. combined movies at 3 hours. about 18 hours in all. you shouldn't watch it all at once tho. you'll eyes'll go numb. i, however, have managed to accomplish this task. all in one sitting. i am da bomb! ;)

I think that comics is a copy of series. You should see first battle with Sachiel. Half of pictures are big writings like "SLAM" "UGH" "TERROR", like in movie, but there it was too short to read. But Rei is not an angel. She have a part of one - Lilith - but she is dominately a human. However, her will isn't humanic, but possibly her refuse of Gendo before fusion with Lilith was her will. Maybe influence of her Lilith part...

i think that what she did was basically trade gendou for shinji. she betrays him and lets shinji choose the fate of mankind, which he foolishly destroys.

and btw, do they EVER actually show adam on gendou's hand? i don't remember. i know it's there tho. that's what happens in that scene. gendou is holding rei's hand and she fuses adam from his hand into her being. but off the top of my head i don't remember actually seeing adam on his hand in any of the scenes.

Gendo Ikari was Shinji's father, that man in glasses, one if the NERV commanders. His hand was showed many times. Adam was in I think 21st part and also on the beginning of Evangelion:Death. In movie only partially, rising over Antarctica causing Second Impact. That scene was very confusing. About it, maybe I have a bad version of it, but what says Gendo in the beginning of 26th part - half of End movie - just before he shots Ritsuko? He moves lips but there is no sound or subtitles. After it he move his arm into Rei (possibly to unite with her soul - as soul of Yui), but she refuses and then flies into Lilith. Adam has nothing with it.

Also, how he destroys the mankind? We should all became one angel - Lilith - or a Heaven, without any connection with this world. I think his act was a salvation - everyone get to that other world, without AT-field. And he, personally, became the first of the next humans, on Earth with Asuka. What does really creator ment I don't know.

Eva Series were numbered 4-12, Apollyon. There were based on Eva-04, last from prototype serie, but first in SEELE order. And first fully controlled by dummy plug. Eva-02 was first to be the unit uniting the best properties of 00 and 01. I think unit 03 was based on 02 too. It's pity I haven't seen entire Evangelion series, but when it'll come on RTL2, I will try to ;)

ok ill clear up a few things here.

eva 2 does have a soul (as all evas do, as

souls are as air to the evas.)

its soul is Asukas mother, there is no doubt in this fact.

Rei is cloned of Yui and the genetic material of Lillith, but Rei alone can hold a soul as she is "the room of gaff" (see the episode when akagi destorys the dummy plug system). That soul is Lillith's. That is why Kawor says to her that she is the same as he is.

The ending of the series and the ending of the movie, despite what it seems, are entirely the opposite of eachother.

In the series we see Shinji among his friends, whether dead or not, presumably united inside Lillith. This ending is surreal and happy seeming. Shinji has run away from the real world in favour of one where he cannot be hurt by others.

In the movie, EOE, we see him cast down to Earth (the actual sequence where he ejects from the Eva was deleted b4 release) and it is far mor sullen and realistic (emotionally speaking). He hasnt run away, he has allowed himself to continue existence in the world where he may be hurt.

And yes Adam is on Gendou's hand, we see this in one of the numerous versions of Death.
