WotC  is worse than Microsoft!!!

I used to be a freelance employee of TSR, the makers of th original Dungeons and Dragons game. Nothig I ever worked on made it to print! Back in the mid '90s (94 if I am not mistaken) WotC made this dumb little card game called "Magic: The Gathering" which syphoned of all of the money that was in the thriving role-playing industry. TSR was the major victim of this giant "geek shifting" as they stopped playing thier 50th level mage/cleric/psionicist to slap down thier "lord of the pit." After they took the money from the industy, they weren't happy just there, the went after the collapsing companies and took them over. WotC bought out TSR and I resigned any and all affiliations with them. Very simply, I want nothing to do with WotC. Now the idea that they are becoming a part of the "Dune legacy" leaves me in great ire! If I had an once of faith in this company, I may feel differently, but as I don't...

I, being very facist and somewhat capitalist and definitly elitist, Ihave major problems with overcommercialising products. WotC has made a career of overcommercialising to increase capital gains. This is not a bad thing in and of itself, however, in doing so, they sell out the legacy of all of those who have been there before WotC. With D&D, they decidd to make a 3rd edition, changeing all of the carfully balanced rules on what seems to be a whim. Some for better, some for worse, still others seem for why?

I fear that if WotC get thier hands on any Dune liscence at all, only harm will befall our community. If you don't like what Westwood did by adding the Ordos, wait until you see Dune: the Gathering!

Some of you may disagree with this rant, but I emplore you to speak as fans of Dune on this matter and keep this corperate entity from ruining our beloved jewel! If history serves this company, then we will loose everything we hold dear about Dune to the capitalist antics of a megacorp on the rise!
