i looked at the arini.txt and i saw this:

 [HKRepairPad]

 Icon  = "iconsHK_RepPad.tga"  

 IconGrey = "iconsgrey_HK_RepPad.tga"

 Xaf = "hk_repairpad"

 XafConstruction = "hk_repairpad.xaf"

what is that is theres a repair pad for harkonnen?

i thought of a similar thing but the game crashes if you set a unit as a building and try to place it.

cough MCV? cough.... ummm make an MCV that repairs stuff.... sheesh i dont know :-

uh... how could an MCV rpair stuff??? How is an MCV a building? How could an MCV relate to a repair pad... ???

an MCV is a unit that deploys to a building....

well, you said that above ^,

so an mcv is a unit that makes a building...just use the MCV and repair vehicles data to put them together.... i dont know :-

Hm. How about a repair building that creates (or even fires?) special repair units. These units would have a tiny xbfmodel, based on the current rep. unit. They'd be almost free, and Have almost no healts, be insignificant in kill tracking, and stuff - would that work?

Fires?can it fire into the battle field? You maen an airborne Repair thingy? can you give it the para chute from the eits? that would be funny ;D

You can't do that, really.

But you could have a repair vehicle that appears to float (modify the xbf) or perhaps one that is fired (can we use unit xbfs as bullets?)

so you would select the building and then select a unit to be heald and click it? then the repair units is zipped there? make it go 'aagrrrhhhaaaaa' when it shot out of building, like when the Hark Devistaor self-explodes.

i assume that would be possible seeing as how you can use a unit xbf as asn explosion. It looks damn funny too, I did it with the sard xbf and loads of little sards ran out when the unit blew up ;D

unfortunately it crashed soon after... it was fun while it lasted tho :)

I want a unit that does that... it leeches something and then it blows up using the sard .xbf thingy as exposion and then a regular sard is the what is left after the units exploded from being leeched.

call it the CiD looks like the Gohla Sard. (doesnt he have the knife and lasgun too?) and each time it leeches something it leechs out a regular sard. (dont want to many CiDs running around ;D )

that wouldnt work as a leech always leeches something into a copy of itself

its annoying but there

when i said that loads of little sards ran out i meant that they simulated the explosion, ie they ran out in a circular radius and then vanished.

well that would still be cool... make it the golah sard and everythime it leachs something have a sard explosions and when the dust settles there is a nother ghola standing there ;D The CiD Factor.
