nema a computer cannot be internet ready without TCP/IP protocol installed. There are other protocols out there, but only TCP/IP is considered the 'protocol of the internet'. The protocol is called a protocol "suite" and is software. Your computer has to be configured with a proper IP address (provided by your ISP), or at least be part of a private network with a public interface. Configuring for DNS is not required, but without it, your abilities will be extremely constrained. however, there is not much you can really do with just tcp/ip and no browser software (you couldnt really surf the internet, but you would be able to telnet, hack, ect.)

I'd rather look at something eye catching than something drabby. This works regardless of age, its the simulation to the brain thats generates curiosity, which in turn lengthens attention span.

Which is why some presentations are harder to understand - its not the subject, it's the presentation. And as the teacher is a presentater by trade, it is his primary job to get attention and keep that attention span.

Physics was my weakest subject, and maths. I like to think it was me being stupid but I think it was in the presentation that did it for me. Too boring.
