Anathema Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 Dissapointed about the outcome of the recent battle, count Asteroth plots another move. 200 of his men will travel to his cousins county, disguised, and will then commence a slaughtering among the civilians- the men he will choose will be prepared to make such a suicide attack, as his men almost worship him. By the time Azmeths army manage to hunt down the last of these terrorists, they'll have caused enough terror and panic to teach those whiners a lesson.Men-at-arms: 500 (bought some more for 15,000)Peasants: 4,400Gold stock: 20,000Gold income: 5,000 per post

Anathema Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 It was evening, and heavily raining. Azmeth marched through the capitol city with the town guard, searching for any remaining ghostland terrorists. The same thing happened in about every town in the county- fortunately most towns had a well equiped town guard that could more or less take controll of the situation till heavier forces arrived.A lieutenaint walks towards count Azmeth, and salutes."Sir, I think we got them all, in this town anyway. We've looked everywhere and killed at least 40 terrorists in this city alone."Azmeth sighed. He looked around and saw the bodies of civilians across the street- only a ghostlander would be insane enough to do such a thing. But perhaps its over now.The knight Hans Wismerhill was also present in the counts company. A drop of water dripped right in his right eye, and he rubbed his face dry with his hand- then he saw it. A crossbow appeared from the second story of a house, and pointed at the count."Bow!" he yelled, and he stepped in front of the count. He narrowly managed to bring his iron shield up to deflect the arrow. The soldiers, immediately alarmed, barged into the house and the sound of fighting came from within.Count Azmeth, narrowly saved by his knight, looked at Hans with the deepest sign of gratitude and friendship in his eyes."You saved my life, Hans. I am indebted to you.""I was just doing my duty, my lord.""As you always do. But this deed shall not go unrewarded. Tomorrow morning I shall dispatch a messenger...no, I'll go myself, to request the emperor himself to lend you the title and privileges of a count."Hans was astonished."Me? My lord, are you sure..."Azmeth smiled, and said:"Do not question me- you are still a mere knight afterall.""Thank you sir.""Now, I'm going back to the castle. I shall have to get up early tomorrow for my journey."
Lord J Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 The Duke nods and thanks the magician before closing the door of the throneroom and putting the bow away. "So, will you give it to Count Sorrel when he arrives?" asks Daniel, the Duke's brother. "Hrmm, good idea, my brother. I may do exactly that." Meanwhile, Count Sorrel and his men are met by a band of roving Mean-at-Arms, and are escorted to Tiern Keep. Another 500 troops are recruited.House Tiern of the Ghostlands2,800 Men-at-Arms (800 at Fort Grendle, 1,100 at Tiern Keep, 200 at Forholm, 200 on patrol duty, 500 attacking Ogre camp.)15,540 Peasants (8,540 at Tiern Keep, 5,000 at Fort Grendle, 2,000 at Forholm)2,141 Gold1 Dragon (Illiana)4 Warturtles (1 at Fort Grendle, 1 at Tiern Keep, 2 attacking Ogre camp.)

Usul Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 Count Sorrel goes with the guards to the duke's castle. When he arives he awaits the duke in his waiting room.
Lord J Posted November 5, 2002 Posted November 5, 2002 (OOC: No...I didn't know that until you just posted it. Thanks for the info, I'll make sure to utilize it :) ) "Hello Count! It is good to finally meet you in person!" says the Duke jovially, "Come, come, I cannot wait to begin!" The Duke and his attendants usher Count Sorrel through the Keep, and after the introductory tour, when the Count is nearly exhausted, he and his men are brought to the dining room. "Here, sit down, my friend, and eat!" says the Duke, "Although I truly must apologize for the food. We had so little time preparing for a man of your...stature." After a long feast, rich in wines and perfectly grilled steak, the Duke finally orders the servant out of the room and gets down to business. "Count Sorrel, we really do not have much to offer one another. Both of our siblings are male, so a traditional alliance is out of the question. We are both mighty in our fiefdoms, ruling with hundreds of men, but we have no common enemy." sighing, the Duke takes a long sip of wine before continuing. "But enough business. Have you brought your Dragon? If so, tomorrow morning we shall ride together. You have seen Teirn Keep, but a man's fiefdom is more than his castle. Sleep well tonight, for I mean to show you a true fiefdom tomorrow."
Usul Posted November 5, 2002 Posted November 5, 2002 " do not have Azreal with me but he will be sent for for tomorrow" count Sorrel replied. "But now I think I must retire. Thank you for your hospitality duke.

Lord J Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 The next morning, high, in the sky over the Tiern territories, Duke Alameaga Diomedes shows Count Sorrel his land. Flying low over Fort Grendle, the Duke tells proudly of the stand against it's goblin occupants. Then, turning towards Forholm, the Duke informs the Count of a small carnival in the town. A short while later, the two leaders land in Forholm and set off with a small contingent, to see the sites. After a few hours of greasy food, poor, but somehow hilarious jokes, and folk dances to rival the most limber Cossak, the two men start back for the stables. "You've shown me the best your land has to offer." says the Count, "Great food, peaceful, happy folk, and high economy. Question is; what *haven't* you shown me?" Suddenly, a bandit jumps out from behind the Duke, and puts his blade against his throat. "Give me yer gold, er I'll take it from ye corpse!" says the bandit desperatly. Keeping an eye on the short knife, realizing his own mortality, the Duke slowly moves his hand down to his pocket. "My Lord!" yells an aide, startling the bandit and causing him to look away. Quickly, the Duke pulls his knife from the pocket and kills the bandit. Turning to the Count, he says, "Come on, we have to leave now, these bandits never attack alone!" Calling for backup while running to the stables, Duke Diomedes nearly trips on a foot that appears out of nowhere. The two men are then surrounded, and the guards arrive almost too late. Five guards and the two rulers against ten bandits. What happens?
