Emperor Franz and Melissa Katrina Azmeth walk down the hall. Wedding music sounds through the hall, wich is filled with noblemen, including count Sorell and count Azmeth, the brother of the bride.

When they reach the end of the hall, they see an priest of fire reading an old book. He breathes deeply, then speaks.

"We have gathered here to witness the wedding of two people. Franz Hergendorf, do you take this woman to be your wife, through good and bad times?"

"I do."

"And you, Melissa Katrina Azmeth, do you take this man to be your husband, through good and bad times?"

"I do."

"Then I hereby declare you husband and wife. Franz Hergendorf, you may kiss the bride."

Franz lifts Melissas veil, and kisses her. Servants on the balcony above the hall throw confetti down. Melissa lifts the boquet of flowers, and throws it in the audience, where a woman catches it.

Count Azmeth and count Sorell walk to the married couple and congratulate them. Count Azmeth speaks:

"We live in joyfull times- a wedding and a glorious victory. Now, it's time we head for the feast- I gathered the best cooks in my county to prepare the food."

(OOC: Alright, better late than never :) Thanks for the numerous invitations, I think I'm about ready to join in :) )

From the central command center of the Tiern Castle, 5 messengers emerge and travel to the different factions with the following message:

Greetings Lords and Ladies,

I am Count Alameaga Diomedes of House Teirn, a Ghostlands House.

I have been waiting, watching the rest of you for some time, and I have decided it is now time to announce my presence.

I have begun the planning for a small festival, and I would like all of your selves to attend. My brother and I are most excited to welcome you into our castle.

Anyway, All I ask is that each faction leader arrives with an escort of no more than ten, including siblings, wives, servants and bodyguards.

I hope to see you all in two posts, may Dirondia, the Goddess of Air keep her ever-present hand upon you.

Count Alameaga Diomedes.

Alameaga turns to his brother, Daniel, and asks his opinion.

"It is a most wonderous strategy my brother."

From the dark battlements of Teirn Keep flies Count Alameaga Diomedes on the back of his most prized possession, Illiana, a Dragoness of the most ancient stock.

Looking over his army, he easily sees the newly added troops, and slowly brings Illiana down to address them.

Utilizing the 5000gp in the last post, Diomedes has built an additional 100 troops.

Swooping down and addressing the new troops directly, he tells them of the planned attack.

A Goblin encampment lies just north of Teirn Keep, in an extremely strategic peice of land.

The next day, 100 Men-at-Arms, comprised of Footsoldiers, Archers and Knights attack the Goblin stronghold.

"Indeed, Alameaga, I'm sure this feast will echo the grandest in the Empire or Ghostlands combined." replies Daniel.

Meanwhile, at the stronghold surrounded by goblins, archers mount the battlements and begin firing downward, to hit the disgusting creatures while the knights head for the various entrances and begin building up defenses.

Deep in the bowels of the stronghold, a band of footmen discover a room with 5 Cannons, 3 Catapults, 10 vats of acid and a mysterious sword, tucked into a glass-covered case.

The acid vats are poured over the stronghold's side, doing vast damage to the goblin hordes, and the Cannons and Catapults begin firing...

(OOC: I hope you don't mind my findings, It's not exactly easy to defend a stronghold with no more than archers :) )

As the troops continue firing and pouring acid down the walls, Leiutenant Herren turns to Captain Grendle and says, "Sir, we are running out of supplies, I fear we may not be able to hold this fort for much longer!"

"I know, Leiutenant, but we must wait until the end. To die trying to liberate this mighty castle is *far* preferable to a capture by Goblins."

"Aye sir!" replies Herren, turning and running down the halls, yelling for the soldiers to double-time the battle.

Meanwhile, at Tiern Keep, things are exactly...Pleasant.

"Where in the deepest vats of Dun Tearge are they?!", exclaims Alameaga loundly, slamming his gloved hand into the table with such force to shake the candlesticks.

"My lord", says one attendant carefully, but slyly, perhaps they are busy with other plans, or simply unable to attend because of security risks."

"Perhaps...Perhaps..." growls the Count angrily, "Perhaps I should send another messenger."

The next day, a messenger leaves court heading for Count Azer Haloran.

[hide]Dear Sir:

I am Count Alameaga Diomedes of Teirn, I am wondering why you didn't attand my festival...

Ahh well, we all have reasons for our mistakes, and I am not angry with you. Nor is this the reason for this message.

I am curious as to the intelligence you have gathered about our neighbors, the Empire.

I would most like to meet you, personally, and discuss the possibilities of a trade alliance.

Many thanks.

A cheer is taken up all through the liberated fort as the Goblins finally turn and flee from the mighty Tiern forces.

A few days later, after the men are commendated, medals awarded, graves dug, Count Diomedes looks out from the battlements of this great fortress.

Turning behind him, he first spots his dragon, Illiana, lounging comfortably on the fortress roof. Then, he notices a small shard of light.

Moving closer, he sees the shard is, in fact, a sword.

Nodding his head, he first moves to pick up the sword, but then draws back. What if it is enchanted? We still haven't determined the fate of the former dwellers of this fortress... he thinks.

Calling over an aid, he has the man carefully load the sword into a small box, to be carried with him back to Tiern Keep.

Some time later, he orders the new fortress named Fort Grendle, for the Captain who had fought and died, and orders the recently promoted Captain Herren to the task of "civilizing" it.

Along with much of the task force which had conquered it, he sends 1,000 peasants and 105 Men-at-Arms to Fort Grendle for defensive preperations and further buildup.

That night, he sits in deep discussion with the Court Magician about the sword he had aquired from the Fort.

"Yes, yes, but what does it do?" he asks impatiently.

Meanwhile, in the countys castle the count Richard Azmeth receives more and more disturbing tidings every day. Bandit raids are occuring all over the county, harassing innocent civilians and leave like shadows before the counts troops can arrive.

Even more disturbing is that he knows who's behind it- his twisted cousin, William, who's parents were banished long time ago and who lived in exile ever since.

But Richard Azmeth intended to do something about it. He gathered his legions and prepared an assault on the enemy on his stronghold in the land to the south.

"Time to spill some family blood" Richard thought.

Brief history of William Thomas Arasthos

When Uthur Gerard Azmeth, father of the current count Richard, assumed the throne, his brother Paul John Azmeth attempted to murder him by poisoning his meal. Uthur took the poison, but instead of dying, he woke up after lying 6 days unconcious on his bed. He claimed to have been send back by the Gods to set things straight. They supposedly told him that his brother was secretly a minion of the God of extreme pleasure, and that Uthur must kill his heretic brother.

Though he knew his brother Paul was behind this abomination, and knew well that the right thing to do was to kill him- but he couldn't. Instead he banished him to the land to the south, populated only by bands of raidors and other banished scum. The Gods were apparently not pleased at all, and cursed Uthur. He contracted a desease that caused immense pain, that would not stop until Paul was dead. He launched a crusade to find Pauls hideout and murder him- in this crusade many of the people of the southern lands were murdered because they would not cooperate. Uthur finally managed to find Paul and kill him. Uthur was at the end of his powers and died shortly after the murder of his brother. He had, however, two children. His 9 year old son Richard and his 7 year old daughter Melissa, so the bloodline was secure.

What they did not know, however, was that Paul had a son as well, 2 years younger then Richard, whos name was William. William, feeling nothing but anger and recoil for his family, changed his name to William Thomas Arasthos. He was not discovered by his cousin till information leaked out when his terror campaign began against count Azmeths people. William is a self acclaimed Ghostlander count.
