Recently I met a guy in WOL and I convinced him to download KH. When we met again, he told me it wouldn't work for him (there were no changes at all). We talked a bit trying to figure out what the problem was and eventually I made the right question: "did you extract the files to the right folder?". No need to say that he was absolutely confused when I said the word "extract".

It seems that not all people know that mods are in zip files and that they need Win Zip to use them. Perhaps we should put a small note above the mod list explaining that Win Zip is required.

Ya that is a good idea but there are still people who won't read that. Even with the Map Packer instructions on the Emperor pages I still get people who don't know what to do. :)

But I will look into making a small tutorial later tonight.

I am creating an Installation program for mine Gob, will that be okay to post at Dune Editing, or should I put the installation in a zip?

If its an installation guide it should probably go with the zip. The steps on the website will be generic, just how to open zip files and where the files should go by default and also to look for a readme file.

hehehe i cant belive that someone dont actully know what winzip is ;D anyway you guys should stop using winzip winrar is better it can also compres as zip and also has better compersion alot more smaler then winzip...

ive found winrar very bad at handling other compressions, you should all stick with winzip, who really cares about an extra 1% compression?

i find that Aladdin Zip programs are good, but the evaluation is pretty limited.

so i bought it.

i would just stick with winzip. I find it good, but some problems, but much less than WinRar. I didn't like Winace much either.

but thats exactly my point that it can compress as rar and as zip... thats what good in it oh and btw is winzip has that 30 days trial thing? ???

winzip lasts forever but with an annoying I agree/I don't agree screen when you open it, nothing you can't handle if you know where to look
