Anyway, book says shields attract worms- as do floating engines. So Ordos isn't being very smart using those in the desert.

errr...... i live in Australia, and I've been to a book store called Dymocks, and according to the Dune books there, there's no such house as Ordos, but there's a house called Corrino.

Well, shields should drive worms crazy, and they would leave their territories, and attack the shield (any holtzman device)

but they made it less in Emperor. And that's no big point. Because it was for balancing issues

Could you possibly give Sardaukars (and other gun infantry) continuous fire like the machine gun post? And splash damage? That would be sweet, and more realistic.

i smell another imbalance !!!!!!

Of course not. Light infantry is plain weak in comparison with chemical troopers. You could downgrade the damage for each "shot", but give it extremely rapid fire, so the overall damage would be greater.

In the boox, the Sardaukars and the Fremen are significantly better then anything else (exept swordmasters I suppose) so it would only be fair to make Sardaukars really powerfull.

There are only one type of sardaukar in Dune2 and Dune 2k.

I haven't got that far in d2, byut in d2k, they aren't really that good.

and acording to the books one sardaukar should take out 10 landsraad conscripts.

and a fremen should be able to take 5 sardaukars.

Aren't they armed with machineguns against infantry and rockets against vehicles? According to the description in this site, they should be extremely powerful since they're armed with 2 different weapon for different purpose.

Are you sure 2 Light Infantry could kill a Sardaukar? Because it sounds impossible.

And they didn't have the planet for generations. after the richese rule over arrakis the harkonnens got the planet, and afterwards the atreides became the rulers over the planet.

the harkonnens had it for about one generation, i think.

Yes. Abulurd Harkonnen was the first Harkonnen to lead the spice harvesting, later his brother the baron Vlaimir took over. At the end of the original Dune novel the Harkonnen occupation of Arrakis ends- that's all I wil say.
