When a laser tank or an elitesardaukar shots at a laser tank or ordos apc, both victim and shooter blows up. How come?

That's because the two lasers fire at the same time. Then u get redundancy (or something). It means both laser signals get stronger and thats why both tanks (or sard) explode)

If a laser is fired at a shielded unit, the laser effect is amplified by the shields which causes a cascading chain reaction that will destroy both the shielded unit, and the unit that fired the laser.

Understand now? It's not only Elite and Laser Tanks, its anything that'll fire a laser weapon upon a shielded unit.

Not much, just the laser tank, the Ordos APC and the Deviator.

According to the books, a shield with the Holtzman repulsion effect would withstand just about anything (exept slow moving objects) but when a laser beam hits the shield, the shield would amplify the laser beam and the shielded matter and the firing person/objects mass would fission and cause a nuclear explosion.

yes I know about the shields causing atomic explotion. but in emperor there is no atomic explotion.

What other advantages has the shield units in emperor? autohealing ain't it?

Because those units are the only units designed to have the shield, also, the other 2 houses does not have the technology to make shields for their units. (i think, never read the book)

i may be wrong but i have never noticed a pop up laser turret of mine explode when shooting at a shielded unit... why is that?

Because the Pop-Up turret does NOT fire a laser! Duh! :)

Because when it fires, it seemed like firing laser weapon, at the first time i used Ordos even i thought the pop-up turet fire laser weapon until i looked at the information for the WW site, then i know i fire an armor piecing bullet, its a machine gun.

yeah i grabbed the manual in a hurry think i was gonna prove someone wrong ;) but Edric was right :P ;D but a laser pop up would laser would be a great mod idea ;D hey that what i want my unit to deploy into a popup laser turret ;D

House Harkonnen and House Atreides have shields in the books. House Atreides equipt whole armies with shields.

So Ordos are nt the only one with the technology

Talking about mods, is it possible to make the pop-up turret a stealth-turret? That is only visible when it shoots, that would be cool :)

Anyway, book says shields attract worms- as do floating engines. So Ordos isn't being very smart using those in the desert.

Odos are not real or at least in the FH Dune its not... they were made by WW... seems only right they take after WW with there dumbness then... WW had a good thing and lost it... oh well
