This is the first time that i complain about cheaters/hackers in qm, even tought i've been d/c cheated several times, but something different happened today, AGAIN.

As I played qm today, I was clearly winning, no dobut about it (I had 3 refs, 3 drones my mongos were in his spice field, he had no carryalls already and my minos were marching to his base....) then suddendly happened that my screen went black for a few seconds then returned to a blue screen with the following message (in white)

"Excepcion OE in 0028:COO2BEOG in the VxD NTKERN(01)+0000AA26 This was requested from 0028:COO2F9DD in the VxD NTKERN(01)+ 600EBFD" (focus on last part EBFD) i had no other option than reboot.

Well i'd not be making such a statment if it were the first time, but happens that it already happened to me 3 times and the 3 times i was clearly defeating my oponent in qm, i've been playing regulary this past days also skirmish games online, and never happened something like that not now not before either.

I dont want to provide yet nicks or stats, because i dont want to accuse ppl without being sure, I just want some data or imput from you guys, if this ever happened to you or something similar. Doc Nyar, your comments would be appreciated.

Chances are it's not a technical error, how can a tech bug might happen ONLY when i am about to defeat a some1 in qm.

The EBFD at the end is probably just a coincidence. All of those letters are used in hexidecimal numbering which is what is used when printing out error messages like that. Most likely it was just a conflict somewhere, if it happens to someone else then maybe you would need to worry about a new cheat.

no, looks like you have a hardware problem and/or drivers problem.

#1. ensure you have latest bios upgrades for your motherboard

#2. Ensure your CPU fan is properly cooling your CPU. If you are in the middle of an intense game, your CPU heats up, and if it isnt cooled, will crash the system with a BSOD (blue screen of death). I have an AMD Athlon XP 2100. It runs steady at about 55 degrees celcius. After a nice Fisher Plain intense battle, I check it an it is often 60-65 Degrees!! OUCH. Thats runnin hot. I actually have taken the cover off my PC 3 months ago back in June and have put a small high powered desktop fan blowing right on the motherboard. This nicely cools my CPU off 5 degrees or so. If your CPU is hot, check the heatsink. Dust collects in the grooves of your heatsink, greatly limiting its ability to disperse heat. EVEN A SMALL AMOUNT OF DUST IN YOUR HEAT SINK CAN RAISE YOUR CPU TEMPERATURE SEVERAL DEGREES!!! Get that dust OUT OF THERE.

Heat KILLS your CPU. The cooler you keep it, the longer it lasts.

#3. Update to latest OS Service packs. You using Windows 2000? XP?

#4. Update latest video drivers. Re-install them if necessary

emprworm,

thx for the input. I will check in to it, however i really think the problem is some kind of code modification that the other ppl did so the game can be abruptally interrupted and my system totally crashed. I insist that this happened only in qm when the other player was already defeated. I had several intense games this last days and it didn't happen, besides i run process which demands more processing from my pc than just ebfd, like tech draws. Anyway i will check the temp.

Yep emp's right. You either need more RAM and/or a better video card and/or to set your graphics lower, or it was an overheating problem. I got the infamous blue screen of death once in RA2. It was on a scorching day and I didn't even get a message. I thought I was totally screwed when it wouldn't reboot, but the next day when it cooled down, it was fine.

Hmm, such exceptions are likely being game malfunctions. And it is no cheating. Or you are really hacked. And I doubt that that will happen so quick and easy

Are you using win9x os? I had some similar problems with 98 and 98se. After about a year ago switching to w2k everything works fine and smoothly.
