Desert_Eagle25
Ok..some guy used MSN Messenger and IMed me a bunch of smilies...i said "who are you" and he said that he never IMed me and that his friend Fr0stDrag0n invited me into their convo. Well in the IM window there was no "Fr0stDrag0n" although i do know a person named Fr0stDr4ag0n but he has been dead for 2 years due to a car accident. After this he asked if i knew how to hack. I said i knew a lil bit, and that i was into cracking. He then said "you need this" and started asking me questions and stuff. After I told him to leave me alone i went to my desktop and saw "HackChamp.exe" on my desktop. I never put it there, but i wise so i Shift+Deleted it and it was deleted before going to recycle bin. That means he was in my system, and now i'm shaken up. What do i do?
GhostHunter
My recommendation is to check your whole system with virus scanning, and delete any programs you think he put in your computer, then block him and his friend if they i.m you again. Until next post, Vilgent.
Navaros
if you do not have a firewall in this day and age, you are *begging* to be hacked. Might as well put up a big NEON sign, or something
d3m0nger
well i don't suggest u use a firewall, like zone alarm or norton utilities, they blok some online games like unreal t, emperor etc... somehow i dunno, neway i don't give a damn when ppl hack me lol,i don't have anything expensive or whatever on my comp. only interesting thing u can find on my computer is some porn thats all :D
Desert_Eagle25
I have like 9 firewalls....lol
Gobalopper
You don't need a firewall. Sure they help but they can also give you a false sense of protection and having seven is overdoing it.Best thing to do? Format your computer.
Desert_Eagle25
yea...thats a good idea..but my comp WAS sortar re-formatted....i just might buy a new HD and just mvoe stuff over (i.e. pictures, saved files etc)

Desert_Eagle25
Well after i contacted my good friends MekkahFire and Zephyr(not going to reveal real names) he gave a prog of his called methodus 3. It has tons of options and a port blocker. I was there when he tested it and it works better then ne of those McAfee and Norton firewall peices of crap. Desert_Eagle25
Well it works great...instead of being a damn firewall it just blocks all my open port sockets..then they get get access....muahahaha
Navaros
Anyone who thinks you don't need a firewall is in for a Hell of a surprise. Especially if you play Blizzard games. Thousands of people constantly scan BNET channels to steal your CDKEY and without a firewall, you are WIDE OPEN to have that done to you. As well as *ALL SORTS* of other kinds of malicious hacking. I used to think firewalls were not necessary until I had my D2 CDKEY hacked just by *playing* on BNET without a firewall. Laugh now, cry later. Everyone should get a firewall while the gettin' is good.Formating? LOL Real men don't eat keish, and real men don't format their HD. What a waste that is. I have SSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many hard-to-find, high-bit-rate MP3s and massive amounts of other things stored on my computer, that if I ever lost it I'd cry for years. To forsake it willingly? That would be the ultimate in stupidity. There are almost always better solutions than formatting.
Gobalopper
If people are finding your CD key when you play on B-Net that is a problem with B-Net not encrypting them properly. Anyone can sniff packets and decrypt them if you know where to look. And if you partition your hard drive into two or more drives formating one part of it won't cause your precious mp3's to be deleted. Nyarlathotep
Nav... Not having partioned your harddrive like Gob mentioned is the "ultimate in stupidity" to use your words. Especially if you have data that you don't want to get lost (not to mention backups)..but hey, who am I to say, right ? :)(btw, a firewall won't protect your CD key if you play on Battle.net IF they try to steal it from there)
jacobdouds
It does give you a false sense of security, especially since a real pro will not even really notice a firewall.Black Ice is good for outside defence, Zone alarm is good for inside defense.I have 11 firewalls, but its cause I collect programs, I also have about 10 anti viruses, and 2 or 3 firewall anti virus combined, but I only have one of each running, the rest sit in their folders twidling their thumbs.Norton Anti VirusZone Alarm Promy choices, unless duneguys around *cough*And I ramble on again, tsk tsk
