800x600 seems better to me, although its still to big for me. no most people probably have more than 128.

most people have more than 128 mb of ram and play still in 800x600? That is something that would be strange. About half of my games i even played at 1024 on my old AMD K6 233 with 96 mb ram

You have to make a game with 800x600 resolution,

because on some computers (on my, too) are in higher resolution games choppy.

Yes, 800x600 is standard. And 1024x768 is mostly used.
