jacobdouds
Baron_carl, that looks like you just randomly pushed letters on the keyboard, which you did. Also, American is English, just greatly slangerized. The area that deals with Mathematics also deals with Language, but it doesn't mean that if you are good at one you are good with another, it just means that you have the potential to be good at one.But some people can be good at some variables of language and not others, for example: If you are brought up in an english country, you will need good visuals skills to learn Japanese or especially Chinese, and vice versa. Acriku
No one said that you would be definitely good at one and therefore good at the other, if you had read my post in it's entirety you would have seen the word "theoretically".
DjCiD
Wasn't there a reason to keep all the different ppl speaking in different languages? What was it they tried to do at the tower of Babblon? Would you really want every one in the world to speak the same language? And who would decide that language?
nemafakei
The tower of babel. And that's if you believe in the event. And while american is indeed a group of dodgy english dialects, there is no reason for Carl's statement to be false. And yes, there is a certain logical nature shared by maths and language accidence. But remember also vocab... that require other things.
