Gob...

Can you just register domain names witout one domainname service provider thing like Active ISP in norway and Go Dadddy???

With other words: Can you register a domain name 4 free? example vidiware.com vidiware.net vidiware.vid?

No is the short answer. The companies that control the domain names registration need to cover their costs. Plus you need a server to put the site on. Which costs money each month.

As said, domain names are not for free (if they are, why did they make me pay and tell me where you can get them for free  ;D).

Me starting up my own comapny have learned that having a website is not that easy (especially if you want to make it look professional and do not know how).

I learned that my webiste (meaning the building of it) will cost me a lot of money.. :-/  then again, it has to represent my company..

Eah, yes there is one ;D

You can have a free domein name, look at mine www.sanctuary.tk

The downside is that it HAS to end with .tk and you don't get any server space. This shouldn't be a downpoint if you have a 24-7 connection yourself and don't expect that many visitors.

If you do get a lot of visitors or don't have a 24-7 you can take some free space almost any where. But that's usually not mutch, and there is a lot of difference in quality.

There is a nice seartch page where you can find companies that provide free hosting. If you like it send me an IM about it.

As you might know, my site [ www.sanctuary.tk ] is compleatly free.

I am paying for one already, and that server is at home, so I only pay for the domein name and it get's linked to my own server. This means I don't have to hire the webspace. Didn't want to pay for another so that why the second is compleatly free. The only downside is that you get one popup window when you access it, but you can filter your browser for that.

If you whant to know the companies / sites I have them from just look at the "thanks" part of at my site. Or an IM could do the trick.
