Timenn
No, when you play with hard settings, the AI plays with 'normal' settings
IxianMace
So basically the AI is able to build faster than you are when you are playing under 'Hard' mode? ???
Devastator_Mech
Why not just let the AI start with the whole base ready since they cheat anyway.
IxianMace
You mean put pre-built base on? That would mean that you would get a pre-built base as well, and I don't like that because of the way the computer builds the base. The design of the base sucks, every time I play with pre-built on, I always end up moving the construction yard, selling and rebuilding and windtraps, and then selling the barracks and refinery and then rebuilding them as well. I like to build my own base from scratch, so that the format doesn't get all messy. 8)
Devastator_Mech
Not pre-build base, im mean let the AI to have a complete base at the start.Yeah, the pre-build base's format suck, i usually rebuild the barrack because of the wrong direction it was build, but i don't rebuild the refinery because it takes too much time. IxianMace
Not pre-build base, im mean let the AI to have a complete base at the start. A complete base? You mean everything including the starport, hanger, palace, etc, etc? Don't you think that would be pushing it a little? It means that the AI will be able to rush you with lots of vehicles and infantry by the time you're putting down your factory, or maybe even barracks. (This is assuming that you build your barracks after your windtrap, and then the factory after the barracks btw. 10k as well).
Devastator_Mech
Don't forget the AI is so stupid that it send units one by one and don't even know how to hunt the harvester.
Timenn
Ok, try this if you say that it is so easy:Start the game with 5-10 units. And wait about 5 min. in game. You can 'easily' destroy the incoming units of the enemy, because 'they only send one by one'. And after those minutes try building your base. etc... Devastator_Mech
But the units i start with isn't concentrated enough, and also, AI don't do much strong early rushes.
IxianMace
Well I suggest you try what Timenn said, and then we'll see what your opinion is. Try it on a small map like Sandy Pass or Knife Fight. You might be suprised about how effective the AI may be.
Devastator_Mech
I tried it, and couldn't hold the AI's rushes for every long. 10 units is far from enough units to hold-on the AI's rushes, they sent much more units than 10. But if you just let me build infantries in that 5 first min, holding-on wouldn't be a problem.
