The feeling that you are in the mission, not staring from somewhere above.

Many commando like missions, like in commando's. And also the basic destroy-all missions

Height differences like in Railroad Tycoon II

More type of terrains that really plays a role, I mean interactive terrain like the Tiberium.

And more terrains, like underwater, in the air, in space.

But you have to be carefull when you "sacrivice" the perspectie from above. It could loose it's "real time strategy" idea and change it to an adventure or shooter.

RTS's could definatly be made better with higher quality graphics, but graphics that aren't overwhelming.  More detail but not so much detail that you're, say, admiring the artwork of a single harkonenn flame tank while a platoon of the atriedes equivilant is destroying your base :).  Also, MORE KEYSTROKE USAGE!!!  Multiplayer should be worked on as well, the optimum would, of course, be seamless performance from even a 14k modem, anywhere in the world.  I think the roleplaying side of RTS should be worked on as well, although I have no real suggestions for any of it.

i would like them to do real time 3-d projections like they did in the mortal Kombat games among others

This is where they have REAL units/players/buildings that they cast as 3-d in the game.  It's been done in arcade games, but i haven't seen it that much in computer games

I think playing ebfd with a REAL trike, or Mongoose that is projected in the screen would not be that great, but if they did that in Renegade instead of using animated characters it would look kool

I would just like to be closely involved with the characters... like they do in warcraft III :-).... that you just feel for your units. If they die, a piece of you dies. I think it worked well in TA Kingdoms, if one of my elite units was under heavy attack i tried to save em

I think the Earth series had pretty much I wanted to see in a RTS. Mainly I think that it is important that there are a number of possible strategies for each sides and also unique strategies for specific sides. And the background story should be good. In Earth 2150 it is all about the oncoming destruction of the Earth and each side has to fight for recources to build shuttles to leave the Earth :).

Not specificly an RTS, but concerning what it should hold are the graphics of Serious Sam:2nd encounter. If any of you have played it, you surely remember those rooms where you would glide all over like it was ice. The graphics really amazed me. Playing on 1024x768 and all ingame graphical settings maxed out, the game runs excellent (compare that to Renegade) If you haven't got the game, make sure you get it, even if it's only for the grapics, it's worth it.

The game should have the addictive game play of Diablo II. No other game has tied me to my chair that much and long as Diablo did. Graphics wern't good, neither bad, just okay. But the hunt for new and better items (and if you did find them, the race to grab them before anyone else does), to increase your characters power was great. Almost crying if you had a full inventory and died (stuff then would drop on the ground for anyone to pick up)..

The game should have the multiplayer abilities of Diablo, Warcraft, and Serious Sam. I'd like to see a game where every multiplayer option would be available (thinking about a campaign where you'll encounter the AI, but also your buddy sitting next to you)..

I also would like to see a good story line and soprry to be a boar, but just like Diablo. It had a good storyline and nice scene's in between the levels.

Another thing that would be nice would be some sort of interactivity between the player and the AI, like in Dungeon Siege, or Baldur's Gate.

As I'm a big fan of fantasy, I would love to see this game being in the time like Dungeon Siege and if possible, first person. Somehow I think this should be possible..

About ammo and weapons, I think it should stay realistic, like in Diablo. If you had a bow, you needed to carry arrows, unlike Dungeon Siege where you're archers have unlimited arrows. And like in Diablo and Dungeon Siege, there schould be a limit to what one can carry (like in Dungeon Siege, take a mule to carry stuff if you have to much), if there's anything to carry that is..

There's much more I could tell, but I think I've been specific enough ;D

SS's gaphix are great though gameplay is not too good.

Also what like in a rts is very different sides. I like it in starcraft. All races are different and require differents strategies though the balancing is still great. (except the high templar perhaps)
