quoudam72
After you have beaten all the campaigns the only thing left is the skimishes/practice, which I like better. Anybody who has beaten the game knows what I am talking about.
Timenn
Heh? You can also play multiplayer, what is a great option. I prefer that. But skirmish is also fun though. But what did you want to say with this?
OnAMission
I've nearly completed all the missions. Unfortunately I can't play online at the moment. So I'm running out of things to do with dune 2000. Skirmishes can only keep you enteretained for so long.
quoudam72
Pointing out the replay of a game like you said (Timenn) multi-player is a great option but like OAM also said skirmish can only entertain you for so long and OAM can't benefit from the online play feature of the game. I think the best thing about it was the online play when it was supported. If any of you guys play the skirmishes how many AI opponents do you play against? I have been trying to play against more than one AI opponent for the challenge. Maybe I just bored, I'm playing at the moment with crates on and worms high with 2 other opponents, for the challenge. Timenn
Hmm I played once with 4 opponents, crates and worms medium (low= 1 worm, medium = 2 worms, high = 3 worms?).But you can also play with LAN, mostly because Dune2k doesn't need so much CPU, and it runs then on some old pc what you have somewhere... quoudam72
Playing the game on LAN is also good. Do you prefer LAN to on line playing? How did you find the amount of worms with each setting (low, medium and high) or are you guessing?
Timenn
Well if online play doesn't work anymore, you can still play LAN, although it's harder to find people to play with (like for me :()And about the worm amounts: I played many times with those settings and I found out that there never are more worms then 1 in low and 2 in medium. It's easy to find out with thumpers. With low, and you have 1 thumper you will find now worms, and with medium, and you have 2 thumpers, there are no other worms appearing anymore
quoudam72
Placing thumper infantry near your opponents place of harvest is always a good tactic. I do not know why I get a kick out of seeing Shai-Hulud doing a vertical. Â
Timenn
Look at me, I'm also fan of that. But truely, I'd never used thumper infantery other then keeping worms away :)
gryphon
A bit late, but still . . .. I like to play against 3 -4 AI adversary's. High, worms, and crates off.I prefer LAN over internet, it's nice when you cane sometimhes plase a vast look at the persone next, or against you, and that "yes" jell when you destroy something has mutch more use then ;)Thumpers, . . Â usually to keep the worms where I whant them. But when my counter player is harvesting in my way they are also handy.
OnAMission
Xl or L map, 3-5 AI worms medium. Most I've every played against is 6 AI with worms high on the imperial basin map.
gunner154
I wished I could build thumper infantry, they're so cool!
Timenn
Just play skirmish then
gunner154
No I want to train them not by getting them via crates!
Timenn
Then you must play skirmish, build a barracks, upgrade the barracks and then you can train them
gunner154
Oh yeah now I know why! Thanks Timenn for enlightening me I always play with Worms Off! lol
Cyborg
they are cool, the thumpers, but i can do without ;D
Timenn
Hehe, that makes indeed some difference
gunner154
Do they kill the worm when it reaches him?
Timenn
No they keep them under control. The worm stays with the thumper untill you undeploy the thumper
gunner154
So I'll never be left in peace...
Timenn
No, that's the game, but if you have enough thumpers placed, the worms won't bother you anymore
gunner154
What happens if I wanna keep my thumpers alive so I guard them with tanks...will I lose the tanks to the same hungry worm?
Timenn
Yes, that's indeed the problem :)
gunner154
Then I better stick to using infantry to guard my thumpers. It's strange worms have zero appetite for infantry in Dune2000 but a voracious one whatever the food is in Emperor ;D
