Guest Ordos_Yogurt Posted August 17, 2001 Posted August 17, 2001 Don't move almost destroyed vehicles and infantry with any amount of health over the clouds of spice melange. they will die! also, avoid stepping on the pimples in the spice.
Guest Ordos_Yogurt Posted August 29, 2001 Posted August 29, 2001 If you see a few enemy units in the spice, run the pimples over
dex Posted October 28, 2001 Posted October 28, 2001 I think those (pimples) are what happens before a spice blow
exatreide Posted October 28, 2001 Posted October 28, 2001 Why dose the spice hurt your infantry? Dose not spice help?
dex Posted October 28, 2001 Posted October 28, 2001 a spice blow creates a lot of high powered gasses flying every where (like a sand storm) which will definetely damage a person :O ::)
exatreide Posted October 28, 2001 Posted October 28, 2001 thats not what i was talking about ::). i was saying that if you leave a infantry unit in the spice he will start to lose health. Why? would not the spice help him?
dex Posted October 28, 2001 Posted October 28, 2001 dont know send that to alpha beta and have him include that in a mod
nemafakei Posted October 28, 2001 Posted October 28, 2001 They only lose health when the spice field is regenerated by a 'peaceful' spice blow (it looks like gas rising form the entire field, not just an explosion from the centre). Sticking a guy on non-regenerating patches of spice doesn't affect him.
ThopterFanatic Posted November 15, 2001 Posted November 15, 2001 I've always been angry about that effect. It looks nothing like what they described in the book. I always invsioned a huge explosion flinging spice everywhich way.
nemafakei Posted November 16, 2001 Posted November 16, 2001 They used to blow up in D2000.But the new effects are indeed a poor representation of a blow.
Winsett_Z Posted February 16, 2002 Posted February 16, 2002 In Sci Fi channels Dune movie they make spice mass explosions look like...well...big explosions.
Vanguard3000 Posted February 16, 2002 Posted February 16, 2002 In the books, it's describes as a large explosion which "exchanges the surface sand with the spice below" (to paraphrase), so it would be a large whirlpool-explosion effect. But something like that would be tough to do in the game.
Sardauker-Kirov Posted February 17, 2002 Posted February 17, 2002 Probably it would be annoying for people if their units get killed in one shot by the Spice explosions. Just like in dune 2
House_Corrino Posted February 17, 2002 Posted February 17, 2002 In dune 2000, they killed infantry, but that's it.
jacobdouds Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 The dune 2000 explosiom did look much better.
Sardauker-Kirov Posted February 20, 2002 Posted February 20, 2002 Boom! You be deadOh no!Oh yes!*Harkonnen Flamethrower comes out from a sand hill and Burns the Male 2 Voice dude of Unreal tournament*IM ON FIRE!!!Oh yeah!!
