Its been a long time since I have done anything Dune related. This is mostly due to lack of interest from anyone able to help me finish the projects that I have been working on. With the departure of both MVI, and Loval, I am left no closer to finishing the projects now then when they left. To that end I have decided to publicly release the source codes of the programs MVI developed. Its my hope that someone will take interest and contact me about completing them. Conditions regarding use of this code include:

1. This code may not be sold for profit

2. If releasing a program using this code, credit must be given to the original author (MVI)

I would hope that I am the one to publish the programs, but it may not end up that way.

These programs do NOT work in their current form! This is just the source code for all intents and purposes.

If you wish to continue the project, contact me at: gruntlord6@gruntmods.com

All source code is in C#.

It would be a good idea for this topic to be pinned. The source code to those files is the product of about a year of my time reverse engineering the game, there's so much to be learned about the file formats from it and it is without a doubt the single most comprehensive source of Dune 2000 modding information (no pun intended.)

Also of significant interest of anyone attempting to make a campaign editor - this topiclists the special indexes

This topic contains a specification of about half the mission file, note that where triggers and events are concerned the topic is inaccurate. Please instead see the excel spreadsheets on the link that Gruntlord provided

Also check out here, although not comprehensive, it should provide you with interesting information. Note that the mission entry should be ignored, and the UI entry isn't up to date.

Finally, remember to use search. There's a good chance we've already discussed what you're looking for, or that it's available elsewhere

I'm surprised you still check the forum, thanks for all the work you have done.

I've still got email notifications on new topics in this forum. Couldn't possibly not check out a topic with a name like this ;-)

You're welcome, it was a pity that I could never find the time to finish the reverse engineering.

[c=#00dd00]You're right, this topic absolutely deserves to be pinned. And so it shall be. Thank you for all your hard work, guys![/c]

Thanks, I am rather proud of how much we accomplished with my vision and MVI`s research and coding skill.

the Debug one works but I cant change the triggers and events in it

in the realease one I saw that Reinforcements can be edited but when I try to open a mis file in the Release one I get this error

I already stated it is not a finished program. The source code was released so someone else can pick it up and complete it.

On an unrelated note, you have a lot of crapware on your computer from when it was purchased (Norton, ebay shortcuts, etc)

Cleaning that up would likely speed up your computer.

I like the fact you have halo installed though ;)
