Yet again another Indian tribe claiming the treaties are wrong and bad for them. They keep doing this every couple decades to get more money from government. And they'll keep wasting the money they get.

And they'll get away with doing lots of illegal activities yet again. If I went and blocked a railway and highway for several months, I doubt the government would sit back and let that happen. I'd be thrown in jail.

As long as the president doesn't find inspiration in Kosovo too (air strikes galore). "You are for us or agaisnt us" ::)

Without their own tax or whatever regulation process, I wonder how they wish to fund anything against this downward spiral, for their culture, or simply health services. Especially without going against their official goals (i.e. emphasising what colonisers brought: casinos, alcohol, culture being sold...).

I'd be surprised if the government even acknowledged this announcement. While a tragic circumstance, it's far too late for anybody to want to do anything besides pay them off again.

I've yet to see the actual Lakota leadership outside of Means group even acknowledge this...if they did, then I think the current Administration actually even remarking on it would at least occur.
