The Return of Westwood: Empire at War

Well, if you haven't heard it yet, a new Star Wars RTS game is due release. Believe it or not, the company Petroglyph is developing it - Petroglyph consists of most ex-Westwood employees:

I have not yet tried out the demo, but you can get it here:

I downloaded and played the demo. I downloaded it from gamershell (full speed for my connection, 300kb/s)

I was realy excited about the game and I think the demo was decent. Not great, not bad. Too bad I couldn't enjoy the graphics too much because i'm hardly above the minimum. So on my pc it doesn't look all that good. But the screenshots are great. I thought spacebattle was cool, although I found it a bit of a disappointment that ships can only move 2d. On land it was also very fun. I thought the AT-AT was realy cool and it moved like it should. All in all i'm quite excited about it but I realy need a faster computer to make it realy work.

Downloaded the demo,it was worth the wait just.

Graphics are good, as is the sound. Interesting game but as an RTS not sure its gonna be an emperor. Game play seems broken and i don't see that much fluid playability, in an online game situation but maybe that just a hiccup with the demo.

One i will probably buy but maybe not on day one.

my brother has it and says it is absolutely awesome. He mentioned some things that reminded me of Generations, building stuff from space and using grand strategy... I sure wish Generations would have worked out.

Short and limited...demo....does anything sound wrong ? No ? Not suprised, its a demo, its meant to be short and limited ;)

I myself will download the short and limited demo and try it out, see if the ex-westwood boys have been spending their time well, practising the art of game making.

I hate star wars, but that game really got my attention, even though I can't even play it at the moment. but I would like to hear some more opinions (especially from ebfd players like erjin) if it's worth it, then I'll get it when I build a new pc.

:(

Nope didnt like it, the ground war was slow (nice units though) and the space war reminded me of the corridor based C&C missions - and I won without really knowing what I was doing - bad AI I think.

So I think I will be buying BFME II instead.
