unable to place buildings

hey.  I started playing a skrimish battle against 7 ai on hard and about 30min into the game I was unable to place any buildings.  I could build the building I wanted to place, so once i was ready to place it it made the building sounds, but the building never actuaily built.  that was with a sard barks.  i all ready had 2 of them.  so i tryed a factory, same thing happned.  so i saved the game and re-loaded it.  I could place the building then.  so I produced anohter building (a wind trap) and i was unable to place it.  is this a major bug or am i doing something wrong?

Between the AI and you, you reached the building limit. Once some stuff gets blown up, you will be able to drop the buildings.

there is a building limit?  wow.....

and a unit limit.  they are REALLY high, but once in a while you'll hit it.  its' rare, but happens.

well....set the ai to attacker so he wont built any walls.....because if every ai has walls the building limit is reached soon....if not, u wont reach it normaly

Actually, which AI is the hardest to beat? Competent, Attacker or Defender?

None of them are hard, lol.

IMO its got to be Attacker. Thats if you can survive the rushes early

The exact limit is, I believe, unknown. Its pretty high, to the point in a nice hard game it should never kick in. If you all turn out to be pansy's, saving your precious hardware from damage, you can build about 300-400 units, me reckons, each, for about 4 players...something silly like that.

The building limit and unit limit are the same thing, I thought. Which is why you cant place a building when your reached the limit, nor produce units....

well in the past I have had a 5 hour 1v1 and neither of us reached that limit while we both had several bases and huge armies...so I think the limit is huge.

But I would love to know what the limit is...can be usefull in strategies...noobs building walls will become elites :P

I think the size of the map can affect the limit as well, the other nite Whistler and I were playing with my kids and my daughter still likes to turtle and build lots of units, and we reached the limit. I forget the map, but it was a four player.
