Here's a tip.... build more windtraps. Low power = slow production time. That would more than explain why his 3 facs made 5 buzz and the other guys only made 3.

lol cid u really think we're making those noob mistakes ?  u shud try to get out and play some from time to time hehe  ;D

wow so this can explain why some people have built slower than others even when doing the same BO.  I know i must have suffered from this alot then.. because i switch to my secondary and tertiary buildings all the time. WoW.

Thanks spicy.... with this knowledge everyone can now build at max rate. Cant wait to see the extra firepower i will get from this.

only thing that sucks is that now making units at your allies base will hurt you as your production will be slower.  Sorta removes  a bit of tactics from the game.

Or maybe it adds .. dunno how to look at it.  It seems like people will only build units at their main base from now on.  I guess its sorta like a sacrifice type decision... do you build minos at ally's base at slower rate or make them faster at your own base?

Well further checking concludes that whilst the production rates are as stated above within a second or so varying from game to game, the PRIMARY factory can and does change. As yet i have not been able to workout exactly why but it definately does. The only way of knowing which is running as the PRIMARY is to watch the units produce if your factory has the delay then it is the slower producer.

Factors that have or appear to have an effect are stopping producing then recomencing at a different factory but it doesn't alway make a difference. Upgrading and producing a 2nd tier unit tends to make that factory the Primary but again not always.

It may just be random as to which factory becomes the main producer dependant on pathway out etc.

This probably accounts for players origonal replys to spicys' findings. It could also be a factor in why occasional we have all been surprised at being out produced by a player of equal skill (or lesser)

Queing units of the same type only has a very marginal effect of about 5 seconds per 100 and about 10 secs for a mixed bag on the timings given above.

As yet i have only done this with Hark but i would imagine it is the same for all houses and i have not tested the infantry or Subhouses perhaps i will if bored later.

interesting...... i did some tests and it seems that after i switch to a secondary factory it goes slower but then it speed back up but then it slows down... it seems as if we need to do some more testing like alchemi suggested... such as upgrading factory and pausing etc..... interesting.

But i think we can all agree that the ideal situation is to put your first factory/bar/hangar/whatever exactly where you want it when you first place it.  Then only produce from there.

Of course like alchemi said it does seem to flip flop with different things and sometimes the secondaries will even turn primary after prolonged use.  Definately weird.

All of your test appear to be with hark.  How do we know if atreides and ordos are affected also.

As yet i have only done this with Hark but i would imagine it is the same for all houses

Just now saw that. :P Need to try with other houses to be sure.

well i just tested Atr & Ord, not as extensively as i with Hark but that was due to the fact that i didn't get the variances that i did with Hark.

This production issue appears to only effect Hark Factories, maybe it is a bug afterall or just some sort of limiter to help maintain balance, although having watched production time of various units i can't see the need to limit Hark.

As yet i haven't tested the infantry or Subhouses but i probably will at some point, naturally i will share the results at that time.

i dont want to make a lots of complicated testing with the stop watch and so... its true that it is a bug

i belive so more than the  idea of balancing  armyes like for ex after 30 min  you dont need to balance harcks against atrieds at all as a matter of fact you need to do the oposit  when 50 minos are  stampeding

youre base  .  so its very defficult to  messure bugs and random  events . i agree with some of the posters like kalony and so somtimes it dont happen, for me it happens most of the time and with all houses speacialy ordos. the delay in making dustyes can  be terrefing for elite ordos players it can make up to 10 dustyes less per minute  from the 3d fac  whitch means confirmed deffeat.

  well i guess it will be on a take it or leave it base, if you want to take the chance and switch over to sub factoryes  just  wait for my rushing buzez and be my guest it will make me happyer to make dubble your units hehee

i wont dare to use it my self then to wait if the bug will do it for me or not.but at least eslpick wont complain so load at me that he is making 3 buzez while i make 5. i mean the guy was right i just wanted to explain that particuler event. i dunno maybe its the way i playe. as mutch as i like you guys i am a dune loner which means i spend so many years playing this game alone coz it didnt have multy player  befor  so i like to be like befor somtimes i enjoy just putting the game on eazy  then i sit for hours

making things like training camps.  i watch every units from all directions  try to test drive evry thing and make testing on fire power and  emprove my bo s. lots and lots of things..  so  like what scar say

no one is there to attak me am not so buzy  i just like that sand and  i sit in there all day somtimes like if i was in that desert for real not only in combate time but olso in normal time when not many  bulits are fired  so maybe all this free time gave me the chance to look at things you guys was so buzy fighting to have the time for it

It happened to me on my main fac, when I think I had two (maybe 3) while I was hark. So I guess you dont even need to change fac to have it afflict you.

no it dosnt happen from main fac  not the same way anyway you can have  2 or 3  ready sings on eatch

20 buzez  but never on eatch units like  the sub fac

I had at least two facs, maybe three (I will pay more attention next time) but it was definately my main fac, and it was the same fac I had always been using to produce units for that game.

am not saying it wasnt ure main fac all am asking is : was it posing at eatch unit?  like it dose from sub fac?  or  it happend every few units? big deffrence  because usaly it locks off after posing few units

witch it dosnt happen with sub fac who will keep giving ready  sings

Ah, it seemed to be for a few units, and then fix itself.

Also, although only possibly related, has any else had the issue where your units all say "Ready" (or whatever they do when they are fully created) and just pause there ? I get that often enough and notice that one becuase they just pause there and no unit comes out for that type, so if my sards get stuck, they stay stuck and sards production just halts.

SCar might remember it happened to me as recently as last month when me and him were sqauring off, ready for a nice fight, and then after a few battles, I shouted out that he should pull back. I told him that for the passed few mins my units had stopped building.

I usually solve this by cancelling either the one unit that is stuck, or cancelling the whole queue. It is definately not the max unit limit, as I confirmed with scar on that day, he was able to continue building (and therefore whoop my candy a$$).

Anyone else ?...

I just saw that happen to me the other day for the first time that I can remember.  I looked over and saw my infantry had just stopped.  I clicked on cancel and then start and they started producing again.  It was really weird.  I have no idea what caused it but it was definitely some sort of bug as the unit limit hadn't been reached and I wasn't out of spice.

Yea that ones definately a bug and happens to all house i believe and it appears to be totally random but thankfully not that often, oh and cancel generally clears it.

Good news I am not the only one getting it. And spiceman, we all have the same copy of the game, but not the same computer setup. My Os is different to your (in setup) so that may influence things.

That little bug can make a big difference depending on when you spot it.

this bug if  i am alowed to call it is totaly random and it has no relation with the computer setup what so ever  i mean slower system can make the game lag or whatever but it wont make the fac give you the ready sing  i think some of the editing  will agree with me anywayas i said its up to the players now to use the switching  obtion pesonly i wont dare but at least we know now why somone might complain  his not making the same as others

uhh  guys?  just a thought,  couldnt  you que  10 units and switch from prim to sec just as its finished,,maybe not that useful with light units and high game speed..but  if u use  bookmarking its not that bad,more useful for ltanks minos ctanks etc as u have more time..but u c where im coming from? use the speed of pri then the convenience of the sec position + ur kik ass mm skills = more units

actually iv used this in games like c&c1/ts etc bar the build speed thing, it was a way of getting ur big tank in straight after u engid theyre war(if same team)

as i sed it might sounda  bit far fetched  but if u can get past 90 actions per miniute and use bookmarking i think u can get around the speed limit so long as u mm ur war?  heh  mm buildings lol awsome

anyway..dont listen to me im more noob than youk..i dont know nuthn about nuthn
