hmmm i played ra's server once... but after that ... i couldnt play again ... i log in and no games are displyed in the lobby .. i go to chat and theres no server msgs... then it says timed out and nothing more i cant even host .. nothing... i guess ill quit anyways ppl dont really want me there cuz they said i freaking lag lol...  ???

With graphics set to low, with your computer specs in your sig, you shouldnt lag unless your internet connection sucks.

Anyway, have you been able to log into XWIS without that happening ? That would be the first test to do.

Log in and see if it kicks you off then....

yea turn your graphics to low and your resolution to 800 x 600

It is, and if you change it to 800x600 it changes to custom, but who cares what its called, just choose low, then up the resolution to 800x600 IF you dont lag at 640x480...

And dont forget to check BOTH XWIS and RAs because we mostly play at RAs server now but sometimes need to go to XWIS, and sometimes ppl who havent moved over yet are still on XWIS.

em... i have 512k adsl connection ... my graphs are already on low ... i see evertyhing good except on multiplayers games it lags like hell ... my pc runs at very good speed on every multiplayer game ive played no one said i lag .. so i dont know what the hell is happening lol...

i cant go to ra ... it sayd timed out ... for me ... i can only go to xwis and wol and no one is there

Well after analyzing your computer setup i think you are in a bit of trouble kindjal and its due to:

1.) You have an integrated nVIDIA GeForce 2 Pro 64 MB DDR memory card...... This is Bad It has extremely poor 3D performance....buying a 30-40 dollar geforce4 MMX card (or anything better of course) would be better than this.

Well his setup is much better then spicemans, but apparently he lags worse, which just doesnt make sense to me.

Dude, can you attach your DXDiag file please ?

Start > Run > type DXDIAG, then SAVE ALL INFO... and attach it to a post here, with a unique name. That might help work out whats wrong.

Also, you say it only lags on multiplayer, does that mean with higher graphics settings you are ok on single player mode ?

to be honest spicy does lagg worse than kindjal... and spicy's computer is worse than kindjal's....so i see no anomalies.....but lagg is lagg...

Chat doesn't work on RA's server...yet.  So when you leave, it causes your game to hang up.

well, kindijal u said the words. laging is boaring i had enough too. i will do my best to get good pc and connection for now i will not playe team games again but i will not leave totaly i think i can still have some nice 1vs1

well.. actually i can play good up to high grapsh settings with my comp .. i did change my sound card.. its some cheapo card .. sounds better than the on board one... my pc runs ok ..i cant play games like NFS and those new games but its good enough to play EMP ... and.. i lag i guess because of crappy programs are in my comp ..  when pc starts with 0 wich means that i reinstalled windows erased everything my pc runs good .. i install the internet thingy i use a while the internet for windows registration when i restart pc ..  i check the internet connection status in the uploading bit rates of my connection is displayed as max and the downloading bit rate is at uber low .. when i close some .exe

The problem here is not your CPU, that particular Duron is rock solid. It's this that is really messing you up....

If you just get a simple, but budget type Motherboard even, (not the integrated crap) and a graphics card it will improve 100%. even using that CPU.

When I first started playing Emp, I used a pc-chips crappy budget board,an AMD Duron 700, 64 ram, and an old 32 meg monster vid card. I'm telling you, it's the integrated garbage that hinders the performance. An integrated video and sound should not belong anywhere near a gaming PC of any kind. Maybe ok for pictures and things like that, but other than that those types of motherboards are pure crap for gaming. Just remember onboard=bad AGP or PCI slot=good.  ;)

Kinjal, are you shure you cant get oyur computer clean using spybot and adaware and other similar prgrams ? Use a firewall and let only game.exe and emperor access the internet. See if that makes a difference.

So Kindjal, u got to admit.. I do have a point when i say ur lagging, but u always take it as something personal lol but upgrades are cheap to realise, u could get everything for virtually a nickle from ebay or something, if u dont mind playing on used hardware. Just as long as it is in good shape i cant see the problem with that, and if ur on a budget its always a cheap solution to improve ur specs

So get that damn thing upgraded and u'll never hear a word from me again hehe

Its just i cant stand laggy games coz they destroy my concentration and my level of play, and after such a game i have the feeling i only wasted my time, coz i didnt take any pleasure in playing, only frustration.

Im sure everybody whos used to good speed games can relate to that.

And as harsh as it sounds, no1 likes laggy games so it automatically ends up in not beeing able to play in all games, just as spicy has to go whenever the game becomes larger than a 2v2, since this is the max bearable for his comp and other ppl's good moods.

I can imagine the frustration for the guys on the crappy end of the connection, but thats life online ;-)

anyway, with the lag kindjal, just close everything, kill explorer etc before you play and you'll find it wont be so bad. free up as much of that ram as you can, and play on 4* 16 res :P

  i know what scar say that is my pc is the reson and all but yesterday after

a few speedy 2vs2  and 1vs1  games i played i am positive that my connection is respnsible for it. scar say  56 moden can run the game smooth but maybe

he say that because he lives in usa  or somthing here the network band which

  can go down so bad that i need 5 minuts to load a web page like msn. i guess  the same thing gose for evry thing eals somtimes i need 3 min to upload 1 mb  and somtimes i need 15 min to load the same file

i guess yesterday the net was fast  the games went with no problems it was like on speed 5  on normal pc

Kalem333 lagged like a*&^% and we really really had some serious arguments with him and constantly kicked him out of games, then he dissappeared, and a while later came back with an upgraded internet connection, and now he is another one of the players who normally never lags, even though his computer was (I think, cos I did ask him back then) all that brilliant.

So yes, others have been in that situation where internet access speed made a much bigger impact then hardware setup.

intel  celeron.  and the copmputer  you are talking about would cost me more than 1000 dolars  to get here in egypt and  normaly i never use computer at all  exept for some stuppied stuff  i  realy love dune but i cant spend this kind of money only to make it faster...olso  i am sure the connection  can make deffrence actuly i can effort to get a broad band but the problm i live too far from the city  like doom said  (in a tent in the middle of the desert)  so i am more like freemen  lol  and there is no dsl service were i live and olso am sure i will not let my mama  pack her bags and move to somwere  were i cant get on ra s  new server
