slaphapy
Ok, I know I saw a thread somewhere before that listed some really good free firewalls you can download. I think it was erjin who posted it... anyway I can't find it using the search because I cant remember any specifics of it. The reason I need a new firewall is because I recently got a virus which I coulnd't fix, not even with the patch for it. So I had to reformat my harddrive. Now I'm reinstalling everything, but I can't find my damn norton cd-key (i'm so pissed because I think my mom must have thrown it away). Anyway, I don't want zone alarm because well... let's just say zone alarm and I just havn't got along very well before.any help is greatly appreciated, thanks. DukeLeto
If you have Windows XP, the SP2 firewall is actually quite comprehensive, so I'd reccomend at least enabling that while you look.
gryphon
if you are using a DSL of Cable internet connection just buy a router.I could give you a list, but then you just need one.Sygate
Andrew
A second the recommendation of sygate. Works good for me. Sometimes have a problem with it popping up and telling me something is trying to access to network, which I have allowed it to do so, but it kept popping up saying it was blocked. Atomic Mitten
If your intending networking using Windows ICS then McAffee isn't good at all,you can send it back McAffee do that becasue they are aware of the issue.I use Sygate Personal Firewall and AVG anti virus and I have been virus free for over 2 years.
