MSN Messenger is not working

I downloaded the update for MSN, and now when I try to sign in Ig et this message:

"You cannot use Messenger at this time because your contact list is not available.  Please try again later."

It was available two mintues ago before I downloaded the enwest version of msn!

What does this mean, they deleted my list?

You mean the beta version of MSN messenger?

Have you tried uninstalling, rebooting installing again?

I doubt they deleted your list. I would hope not.

MSN Messenger was going tits up a few days ago, the service appears to be back to normal now. You weren't the only one.

No, that was a seperate issue.

MSN was down on this weekend or so.

MSN was down on Sundday, I think, I had issues, including the same message (the still sacked ?) Mahdi was having. Ignored it for a wile and its all working now. (Ignoring problems works !  8))

There's a new virus which spreads through msn. Maybe that why all MSN was down?

My friend got a virus on it I think.

He got it, then everyone on his list got it sent to them.

You have failed to receive file "LOL.scr" from .

Also something about naked pic.

So do not open/download any files unless the other user guarantees they are valid.

Yeah our ICT department at college has that philosophy, but as long as www.kniff.de works I'm happy. :P

I know, I work in ICT myself ! Its amazing how many times I get a call like this "dont worry about that problem, XYZ, it sorted it self out/I did such and such, but thanks anyway", to which I reply "oh, ok, well, thanks for letting me know, I will carry on with something else" then hang up and say "who the hell was THAT ?"  ;D

You may take that jesting tone with me, young puppy-squeak, but it works, and when you get into the lethal cut-throat world of ICT, you would do well to remember the wise words of Erjin...Ignore the lot of 'em. Treat em like women, ignore them, nod your ead like you are listening, say uhummmm, and just think about something eles...

Just dont expect promotion.  :(
