Come to Fan Fiction (Please Allow This)

Firstly, I'd like to ask the moderators to please allow this thread to stay in General, at least for a while.  It may have Fan Fiction in the title, but the purpose of this thread means that it definitely belongs in General.  If the moderators could kindly permit this thread to remain, I am sure that it will benefit Fed2K as a whole.  Having said that, if this post is still unappropriate, please accept my apologies.

Getting to the point, I would just like to notify any who are interested that there is a new thread in Fan Fiction.  It is not a fanfic in itself, but an invitation to posters old and new to put forward their ideas or suggestions for further fanfics.  It is my hope that, through these two threads, people will come back to Fan Fiction, and that new posters will take an interest in the board.

The thread is called Fan Fiction Ideas.  Please, come and take a look.  If you have any ideas, post them, and see what others think.  You may be on to a winning fanfic.  Thank you.

There are already great new ideas coming through in this thread's counterpart in Fan Fiction.  Plans for more Dune-based fanfics, D&D based, superhero focused, Star Trek... even a sequel to the biggest and most successful fanfic ever, The God Emperor's Dune, has been hinted at by its author, Dante.

All we need are people to participate in the board.  Give ideas, give your opinions on others, but most importantly: take part in fanfics, and have fun doing so!  Everybody should at least take a look.  You never know, you might like what you see. :)

It's all about co-operation.  If everyone participates, everyone benefits.  Maybe you could turn one of your short stories into an active fanfic, one that people could participate in.  That way, you could say that your short story describes the plot, and people might be more inclined to comment on it.  Just an idea. :)

Come on people!  Please come and check it out?  We already have some new ideas transformed into planned fanfics.  If you enjoy fiction, come give it a try!  There's a Dune fanfic up and running at the moment, Arrakis Factions.  It's based around the happenings of the first Dune novel, only in this reality, the Atreides (inluding Paul and Jessica) leave Arrakis, and the Harkonnen are left to rule.  You play the part of a faction on Arrakis (e.g. Atreides remnant, smuggler, independent house, etc.)
