It was my birthday yesterday!!!!  I got a PS2! I have never recieved such an expensive gift before. Granted its all I got, but it is so wonderful. Not only can I play games, but I can watch DVDs, Not with progressive scan, but still it is damn cool!

I have a problem though, and I wanted to post it here in general since the problems dont involve computers.

See, I got mine used, and it works wonderfully and I have no complaints, but see the previous owner put on a parental control password on the films, so I can only watch movies up to PG-13... and that pisses me off because some of my favorite filsm are R rated.

Now this problem has had to have come up before for PS2 owners. forgotten passwords, or like with me used console owners. Is there any way to override the password? is there any way at all to take the stupid parental lock off the system? because I dont know the password the previous owner put on it!!! argh help me please! lol

power on

reset

insert DVD "R rated" when board comes up telling you parental control is on

it will say enter password

choose select it will say delete password

enter 7444 or use 1111

choose X

supply one you will remember and write it down

If this does not work try unplugging your PS2 for 48-72 hours and it should reset itself.
