You are awesome gunwounds. I can't imagine what it is like being the best. I can only dream of one day having maybe half the knowledge, skills, charisma and influence you have.

It's MX, not MMX.

And the problem with the MX is, that it's GPU is probably not fast enough anyway to make proper use of the extra 64 mb.

I would just like to point out that for a long time I used to run Emperor on a 500MHz Athlon with a Voodoo3 3500 card, a SB Live! Value and 256MB of PC133 RAM and have never had a problem regarding in-play performance, even in hosting games with as many as three players on WWO.

If you are basing your assumption on the ti4200 benchmarks then i would say your assumption is flawed.

Well I think this thread will be nit-picked to death reguarding upgrades, whats the best upgrade to get etc. I just know what I would choose and rather have for the cash involved, since I am an Overclocking

Nut. But yes Memory is a quick fix for some problems.  A rule o thumb I go by is simple for that, If I have an empty dimm  fill it, if I have half the the amount of memory it can use in total Double it, other than that reguarding memory, I personally will only use either Kingston or Crucial. Again thats just me. Also if you have 256 in sdram or have never tried DDR then it is well worth it to get a Mobo that will support it and get some, that itself is money well spent. And for budget boards, my first was a PC Chips basic via-266 DDR Mobo for 23 bucks, I still am using it with 512 kingston  pc-2100 DDR. and is and does run sweet. One of the best upgrades I've ever done for the cash. Not only have I never ever had a prob with this board but it even has nice FSB overclocking ability in BIOS.

It showed me that my cart was empty, but heres some of the same also you can scroll down and get various prices on this type of card there are 2 pages I believe of the card you mentioned above. ATI Radeon 9200 128MB DDR And don't let the first prices you see throw you off just keep scrolling down and prices go down also, just depending on which one it is, but they are basically in the price range Gun was talking about. If this helps some  :)

i fixed my link above your post scar... it should work now... just make sure you say "NO" to all the extra crap they want to sell you and the card should come out to be 45 bucks.

Also it performs much better than the MX.  A definate buy for people on a low low budget.

nope no benchmarks .. due to the fact that the MX is primarily a functionality card and not a gaming one. Cant find a direct comparison anywhere.

Anyways... the ATI 9200 is definately a better card as it is directx8 compatible ... the mx was only dx7.
