Primarily it was a form of worshipping Zeus. And women were there as well, some priestesses and what we call today "realisation team", but never could compete.

If you have ever been to a concert in a stadium, you know that nothing can get sound that clear....  Plus you can just tell they were miming.

In greek times, the Olympic (Nemean, Pythian and Isthmian) games were about nationalistic pride, and fair play was certainly very important (Zeus Horkion being the presiding deity thereof). Pain and fighting were a part of the games, naturally, but that's still the case today.

Obviously the broadcasting stations were jacked into the output channels.

They wouldn't just put a microphone in the middle of the staduim and have good sound.

oh and the US softball teams pitcher jenny finch (IU think that's it) has been offered to pose in playboy ;D

I can't understand why volleyball is a olympic sport and not rugby  :O! Now olympics are not a peace party, or faternity party, but a buisnessmen and sponsors party  >:(! Too many money, too many doping, too many glory, not enough sports ! :'(

I say Paris should have it. Or Madrid. Was it Madrid? Can't remember. But not London and not Moscow, much as I would like to see the OLympics in Moscow.
