Brian and Kevin also have Frank Herbert's complete outline for "DUNE 7," a sequel to CHAPTERHOUSE: DUNE, which is intended to be the grand finale for the entire series.

I got this from the official site..i don't want DUNE to ever end!

ahhhhh, the new books,

what can I say about em......

If you like your DUNE watered down and kinda done in a starwars style, then yup, read em.

Just dont expect them to be like the first and only DUNE.

I think younger readers may like em tho.

I don't think the prequels are that bad, but they aren't written as good as Frank did, that's why I'm having doubts about KJA and BH writing the seventh book.

The prequels are indeed sub-par compared to the Dune that FH wrote. They are a good read but that is all, there is truly nothing in the prequels that (IMO) grabs you and stays with you. There is still something missing from the writing of BH and KJA, I think they should both re-read FRANK HERBERT's Dune series and then try to summon Shai-Hulud again.

Surprised no one has yet drawn a lightsaber in one of the new Dune books.

I wouldn't be so sure it hasn't happened already.  Remember those emerald/ruby knives that Fenrigh and Shaddam had in HA.  They were energy blades that affected the nerves of the victim, without making a physical wound.

From what Ive read, i think that they are competant Fan Fiction and nothing more.

For me the new books have nothing to do with DUNE.

I dont think I could do any better tho, but I DO think that to get 3 books out this quickly shows the have been a little rushed.

Hopefully they will take a breather for the 7th book.

Perhaps theyre based in a parrelell universe, which would explain inconsistances.

Nothing on Dune I've ever read has surpassed Herbert :( :( :(

However, I like Dune and I think it should go on - if BH's and KJA's books are not better, at least they are interesting.
