garth
Nah he's using Sardines as a compliment because he shakes in his boots whenever he sees them in battle, as all smart people would. :)
Acriku
Sardines are good. Does Loki imply that Sardaukar are : 1 : any of several small or immature clupeid fishes; especially : the young of the European pilchard (Sardina pilchardus) when of a size suitable for preserving for food

firefly
Quite right; both Sardaukar and Fremen rock hard (a section of feydakin - eight - makes a nice demolition squad; they can remove any defensive structure in one volley). As for infantry in general 'sucking', I would have to disagree with Fox_Five. Mortar troops, for instance, are also handy to clear out turrets; both kinds of missile troopers, more so the Ordos variety, provide quick and early antiair cover for your base. It must be pointed out that all infantry (with the maybe-exception of feydakin) work best as part of a combined group, whether with other infantry or vehicles, so that each component addresses the weakness of one of the others. Mortar troops, for instance, have trouble dealing with moving vehicles; accompany them with AA troopers, Sardaukar, and/or feydakin.
