Yes I think the movie is called serenity baecause it is the name of a spaceship, although I may be thinking of something else. But I don't know why Firefly had its name.

The TV show was called Firefly.  Serenity is the name of the movie and of the two hour pilot episode of the series.

Serenity is a Firefly class transport ship.

The ship is designed to look like a Firefly, especially when it goes to full burn and all that light explodes out of its ass.

Somehow, I'm guessing spaceship exhaust is a bit more spectacular than the winky-winky crap that the real thing can do.  ;)

ANyway, I look forward to it.  DO you have any information on the movie?  Will it tir up loose ends, like a finale, or will it be more of a full, standalone thing?

Firefly was an awesome Series! Very well written and directed. Directed by the same guy who directed the Series Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I own the Firefly DVD and it's great.
