Hi folks,

This thread may make me look a little like a pedant, or patronising. Please believe me when I say it is not being written in this context.

I'd like to start by thanking the person who made the install fix files...couldn't get Emp. to work on my new system after whiping the dust off the Emp. case, and now it works great.

I'm really just writing this message to say that I think its great that so many people are loyal to Dune, both the great games and the books. I myself am only a n00b when it comes to Dune...I've simply played Emperor and watched the two sci-fi channel series: Dune and Children of Dune. I absolutely love it and currently have all 6 books on the way to my house from Amazon.

In the face of Westwood's demise, the aging of the Dune games (with no prospects at all of a new game) and indeed the Dune series (and the death of Frank Herbert) you folks still remain around here - whether for the community or for the love of the series. Kudos to the site admin for keeping this site up in the face of these events, and kudos to the people who make this community what it is.

If you mean the one in the tech forum, then Westwood made it :) A few people here discovered it could be used as a fix for various problems.
