I would think it'd be pretty much the same as the PC version, minus the gamma correction.  ;)

I've played the PC version, and it's quite fun.  Much like Diplomacy, really.  Just some more detail, and involving the whole world, as opposed to just Europe.  Personally, as far as TBSs go,  I liked Civilization II a bit better.

It takes place in 1942, by the time Italy's run in the war was pretty much over.  Italy is just a German territory, I believe.  Just like Spain, and just as Canada, Australia, and India are territories of Great Britain, and so on.

It is a great game if you can find a the old game, if not you can try the revised version both of them are very fun and the revised game fixed alot of problems from the first edition.

I have the PC game.

I found it took too long for the AI to make it's moves. You would have to watch every move they made and it could take up to 5 minutes.

That's the down side, but it's still a really great game.

Wolfwiz, there was an expansion?!

Yep, Axis & Allies: Iron Blitz. It added more scenarios to the game, as well as two new units; Marines and Destroyers. Marines got bonuses for amphibious assaults, and Destroyers were good sub-killers.
