Wolf Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 This is perhaps one of the most derogatory threads I've seen on Fed2k...
Wolf Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 Do they get to jackhammer-pound one virgin, toss her out, to replace her with another?
GUNWOUNDS Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 *squirts hose at Empwrm and Wolfwiz*calm down fellas lets not argue and lets let this thread sink to the bottom since its obviously super inflammatory and was made on the spur of the moment.
Emperor Harkonnen Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 this is because Islam is a woman oppressing religion, which thinks that women should have no rights. allah does not care if women have to be sex toys for all eternity, allah only cares for males. There is something really wrong with this religion!
otheymzefedaykin Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 this is because Islam is a woman oppressing religionLike Christianism....
GUNWOUNDS Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 Oh maybe you meant Christianity..... otheymzefedaykin ....so you are saying christianity is woman-oppressing?The Bible doesnt promise any female sex slaves... and it doesnt talk about women in derogatory ways. The main *Patriarch* thing it mentions is that the Man should be the Head of the Household. This is for good reason tho.... but first lets ask why we need a head of the household?firstly if the couple is always in agreement then there is no need for a head of the household..... however problems will arise every now and then. Now if the couple cant decide what to do then they need a majority vote.... OR.... they will have to separate and go their own way.
Dante Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 "Wives, be subordinate to your husbands, as is proper in the Lord." (Colossians 3:18 NAB)
danielsh Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 Wow... maybe, Gunwounds, your warped perception of marriage isn't quite accurate.
ordos45 Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 "Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them." Colassians 3:19 NIV (UK)
Dante Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 note for shadow* - dont worship the women .. get them to worship you.... thats how it should be.
nemafakei Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 Dan, that does not amount to misogyny. It may be a rather archaic and opionionated view, but he's far from suggesting hating women.Counselling? He just needs to move a fair bit further north. Out of range of humans to offend, really.
danielsh Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 Dan, that does not amount to misogyny. It may be a rather archaic and opionionated view, but he's far from suggesting hating women.Counselling? He just needs to move a fair bit further north. Out of range of humans to offend, really. The problem with the worldwide Web is that it can be, well, world-wide. Can he move out of its range too? And somewhere away from telephones and the mail? Even still, that doesn't get to the root of the problem... it just quarantines it so that it can't spread. And I believe it to be a bit misogynistic... anyone who believes so strongly in patriarchal society must not harbor a great deal of kindness and compassion for the plight of women therein. And Dust's quotation there may be considered as further evidence to support that view. One of my girlfriends is a radical feminist. I love to listen to her rhetoric---she believes that toppling the patriarchy and toppling capitalism go hand-in-hand. I'd love to see her reaction to some of these posts.
emprworm Posted May 29, 2004 Author Posted May 29, 2004 Tell your feminist girlfriend to take a trip to Saudi Arabia where she can be struck with a fist for simply looking at a man.The Qu'ran authorizes any husband to use physical force against his wife if she is not obedient to him.
SurlyPIG Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 so otheymzefedaykin i would have to say i shattered your weak one-liner above. From where I'm standing you've actually made his point for him...
emprworm Posted May 30, 2004 Author Posted May 30, 2004 From where I'm standing you've actually made his point for him...Christianity is voluntary.
danielsh Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Dan, are matriarchal societies okay?Of course not.Tell your feminist girlfriend to take a trip to Saudi Arabia where she can be struck with a fist for simply looking at a man.The Qu'ran authorizes any husband to use physical force against his wife if she is not obedient to him.
Ninja_Sher Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 Like Christianism....It is not the religion Otheym, it is the people and their dirty politics that made all the controversies. In the dark ages high priests sold 'forgiveness from sin', in the time of crusade many women were forced to wear some clothes to be faithful to their soldier. The populace accused Jesus as being fraud because he was a peace lover and not as tough as Moses. These all believes are not from religion but are man made deviation from the relogion.ps - East or west the females would be abused as long as male and female do not respect each others as 'fellows souls' and try to behave justly instead of thinking about dominance.
emprworm Posted May 30, 2004 Author Posted May 30, 2004 Of course not.Oh, well, if the Judeo-Christian/Western treatment of women isn't quite as bad as the Middle-Eastern treatment of women, then the Western patriarchy must be okay!the western abuse of women is mostly secular
Acriku Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 I seem to recall Mormon polygamy scandals back in the 90s...
