A Good Death is as Important as a Long Life

What? Never! First of all, stabbing is messy. Second of all, I respect you too much to do that. Third of all, what's all this talk about how we'd like to die? I plan to live a long life, thank you very much.

How about poison then? We could poison one glass and then get someone to switch it around with some identical ones, and drink it only to find they poisoned both!

Live long... I'm unlikely to do that anyway, and no offence to anyone who might be in this age group but I fail to see the joys in living past about 58.

If a certain type of death would be more useful to those I leave behind than my living longer, then I would prefer that death.

Ideally, I would die at 60+ leading an invasion that would establish Dutch world domination, leaving my offspring to rule the world in my place.

The least appealing would be to live long enough to let your mind deteriorate significantly, and to be kept alive solely by medical aid.

I believe the Woody Allen quote you're thinking of is "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work. I want to achieve it through not dying".

If I go I want to go doing something heroic or brave. Like saving a bus full of kids from being hit by a train or like staying in a nuclear reactor to shut it down to save everybody while sacraficing myself to the radiation.

Some plain death just will not do.....
