I posted the cartoon links in another thread because I told Emprworm that 2D-TV was why I liked Bush.  I felt that I should show him why.  And what I put in my signature is none of your business.  Does it offend you?

As for acting intelligent... well, spelling is a start, is it not?  Or perhaps taking the time to present your posts in a decent manner, devoid of grammatical errors and flamings?  I couldn't give a toss whether you had a Honours in Nuclear Engineering, because from what I have seen from your comments on this board, you strike me as having the intelligence of a pre-pubescent, spoilt brat.  And no; I'm not calling you a pre-pubescent spoilt brat... I am saying that your intelligence as exhibited through extremely baised views, and simply agreeing with everything Emprworm says, is comparable to a pre-pubescent spoilt brat.

Political arguments have a lot to do with things that you learn outside of formal education - news, your own interpretation based on your own values. It doesn't always have to do with age. While it is true that people tend to become more knowledgeable over time, I won't give in to your opinions just because you have the seniority. I couldn't care less if you were an old man who lived through WWII, I'll still argue with you about it.

I suggest you stop being so proud of your age and your degrees and begin to worry about your spelling and grammatics - little things like that can have a detrimental effect on your credibility, even more so than young age.

Be very careful where you tread here. Lack of knowledge and experience is more common the younger you are (senility excepted), but it is by no means an trend applicable on an individual scale. Certainly, when you look at things, at 15-18, people have more information more readily accessibly in their heads than other age groups - they've spent most of their lives, that being the most recent 10-14 years in full-time education.

But as I say, to apply it on an individual scale is insulting and statistically inviable.

Note also that intelligence is by no means subject to this tendancy, and though the ability to reason is dependant somewhat on mastery of linguistic syntax and nuance, the majority of this ability is learnt by the age of 10 anyway, and many 12-15 year olds can read better than a not-insignificant minority of adults, when it comes down to it.

I've seen a few posts deriding people for their age, from you and others, so I feel it's necessary to clarify this, partly in terms of your logic and partly in terms of Fed2k's rules as follows: "discriminating remarks toward other members will not be tolerated". I know your remarks are not sustained abuse or harrassment, but such as they have cropped up more than once, and such snide remarks are, frankly very bad manners.
