I don't understand the name... Longhorn? I mean, okay, we have Windows 98 (released in 1998), Windows 2000 and Millenium Edition (are there any differences?) and XP. And now, all of a sudden, Longhorn? WTF?

WindowsXP isn't called Windows XP .. my version is called Whistler and I bet your version has the codename Whistler to. In the same fashion Longhorn is the codename for the upcomming Windows version.

It is for pronunciation, I think, Beta should be pronounced Beeta with out the accent, I think.. again.

Yes, but the letter beta can (and should, I believe) be pronounced "beeta".
