Buffalo Soldiers is a "new" movie.  It was going to be released in 2001, but because of sept. 11 it wasn't released until last year, and because of its content it was deemed "unpatriotic" and only got limited release.  Came out on DVD this week.

I'm not gonna post any spoilers because I know most haven't seen it.

This movie... it's kinda hard to judge. It's sczhophrenic. One minute it's trying to be an irreverent comedic satire of the military in the tradtion of MASH (this is also when it's at its best, watch for a scene involving a tank crew getting new orders ;D ), the next it's a serious drama about dirty military personal and personal vendettas, then it switches to a crime movie.

It's a very good movie, but too short. Had they added more of the battle between Elwood and his TOP and more of the irreverent satire it would ahve been a lot better.

Also, the ending of the climax is kinda stupid. Although one bit involving knives had me cracking up pretty hard.

Definatly worth seeing, it is unfairly vilified for not being "patriotic". Stupid post-9/11 world....
