editing sidebar icons

Does anybody know how to edit the sidebar icon graphics so they look like the original ones?! Here is the SIDEBAR. TXT attached in this message. Thanks![attachment archived by Gobalopper]

Just a thought...you may want to try posting this in the dune editing forum...you would probably get a response much quicker... ;D

Not that way. I don't know what you mean with "original ones" but in order to edit the sidebar icons you'll have to do this.

Extract all the textures from the rfh-files, using DuneEx (can be downloaded here) Then open the Artini.txt and you can see what every icon has as filename. Then you must find them in all these textures you extracted.

An icon is likely be named something like this:

AT_Drone.tga

and the grey version of it Grey_AT_Drone.tga

I'm not sure what you mean by the 'original' icons, because the normal icons that come with the game are pretty much the original icons. ;)

If you mean the icons that appear in the game manual, I created an 'Icon patch' which replaced all the sidebar icons with colour versions of the manual icons. Where the icons for certain upgrades like the refinery ramp, or superweapons like the Hawk Strike couldn't be obtained, I created my own versions of them. You can get the Icon patch from Dune Editing, however it looks like Dune Editing is down at the moment.  :-

I don't mind, I'm just not sure that the people that use your mini patches will want their icons changed as well. :)

You might want to make two versions, one with, and one without the icon changes, just in case people still want to use the icons that came with the game.
