The first islamic nation in space will be the one which

A) Attempts to acquire serious means of defence

B) Cuts off oil to western countries

C) Refuses to apologise

How will it get there?

The US will blow it sky high for its insubordination.

Why is that?

they may be the first to have a satillite in space but their satillite was made by the Russians and so was their equipment, they took the pansy way in, US and Russia made everything themselves

no wonder using Russian sattelite,

at least they can have serious defence from 'the hatred', massive islam discrimination & some provoke to involve next world war

IMHO: NUCKE IS NECESSARY FOR MOSLEM COUNTRY FOR FINAL COUNTDOWN

Scytale, it says "locally made". The design is Russian.

Plus it would be ridiculous to make a new design from scratch. Only superpowers like the US and the SU could afford to put that many billions into research. Besides you couldn't hope to improve over their designs anyway.

Nigeria became the latest country to join the race for space, launching a satellite from northwestern Russia last September.
On December 27, Israel launched its second commercial communications satellite from Kazakhstan from a Russian Soyuz launch vehicle.

LOL, the Russians are the world's official provider of space technology. :)

Maybe NASA should wake up one of these days...

NASA should wake up already. They've got PRC right on their tales, which has the moon in sight 2020 and probably Mars somewhere 2035-40.

Besides that, isn't Iran the most "technological advanced" Islamic nation on Earth?

I thought that Turkey was the most advanced Islamic country?

I could be wrong though..  ::)

Designing one would be more expensive than building one and it's quite a breakthrough for Iran if they manage to launch a billion dollars worth project...

The former USSR has lots of spare equipment and so on, and Kazakhstan is a good place from which to set off, due to its location in terms of latitude (and existing facilities). The ESA's Mars Express set off from there six months ago.

What NASA can learn is that they're being rather inefficient... Granted Beagle 2 hasn't been found, but if it were to have landed correctly, it would have only cost

Turjey = Turkey?

99% of the people in Turkey are muslims, the %1 are likely Christian or Hindu.

If it wasn't a Islamic country then the Babylons would still be present in these days.

And hell, if I were forced to live in a Islamic country I'd rather pick Turkey.

Turkey isn't a bad country compared to the others Islamic nations.

Maybe you're right about Turkey, since it's the central country pressed in between Asia, Middle East, Europe. It could be a multi-culture land.

Half of the Turks look alot like Europeans with the facial identities...Methinks..
